Back In the Saddle Again

I’m not seeing what you guys are talking about with the extra RTV, what I am seeing is a freaking something driven through the base plate of the carb. I’ve looked back a few pages of the thread and I’m just not seeing the RTV issue but somehow no mention of a destroyed baseplate?

help me out…

Ok, now I see it when I zoom in, is the red circle the dried plug from the application tube of a caulking gun? The red circle is the squeezed out excess you all mentioned, I guess, what I’m most curious about is the weird gouged out sealing surface, I’ve never seen that before.

It’s an adapter plate

Intake change alone is not gonna solve the lean condition. Your still gonna have to jet it.

I’ve never used RTV on a carb ever. And when I use an adapter I always check it for flat. I did have to flatten a spacer before because it wasn’t true probably the same brand that was on here and was leaking so they glued the sh** out of it instead of sanding it flat.

G80 in a 10bolt and g80 in 14bff are two different animals.

How do know 10b g80 failed?

Might be a blown up pinion
Need some carnage photos

I’m working on trying to get the jacks under the truck on this sloped driveway lol got it on the flattest part and front wheels chauked but I still don’t trust it

Thats not a g80 carrier.

What did the pinion look like, am trying to decide which broke first.
Still leaning toward pinion
I thought it was as the build sheet says this has 3.08 G80 axles but maybe this one was swapped out then?

I could have sworn I check that I checked the ratios when I serviced the rear and they were both 3.08

Gears could be 3.08 just saying that's not a 10b gov bomb carrier.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if that is not the original rear axle. Ole Capt PO, probably dunked the axle every time he launch the pontoon. Sucking nice cool water past the axle seals every time, and never service.
