These are the last #7 and #8 cylinders. The skirts have excessive scuffing, there is a line going down #8 bore that I can’t catch with my nail but I can feel it if I rub on it with my finger. Not sure if that would take care of itself with a ball hone.

If you can't catch it with your nail the ball hone would likely fix it, but it doesn't make sense you can feel it with your finger and not your nail? Did you try the nail both directions?

That coating on those pistons looks like it was literally flaking off in some spots, with wear in others.

Are the short skirts a 6.2 thing ? A lot shorter then the 5.3 I was looking at last weekend. The 5.3 weren't coated skirts either

Nice, you keeping the VVT? It does really help the torque curve.

The lifters are the DOD or AFM, the VVT moves the whole camshaft relative to the crank. So you can delete the AFM and keep the VVT.

I'm about to go cut the grass with my son on the garden tractor so I won't be in the shop right now, but we can surely discuss it over the phone, as it's much easier than trying to type answers.

I’ll call you this week sometime, enjoy your weekend
