Banging noise from np241 then no 4wheel drive

The mech worm gear fit perfectly when I removed this, the tone ring will fit. You still need the speedo and the connector between tc and speedo. The original point was banging. Have you removed the tc to troubleshoot? Have you cracked it open?

The tone ring and speedo gear are interchangeable. You just have to swap the cds housing on.

One thing to pay attention on that housing when you put it on is to make sure the pump ears stay lined up. It’s pretty easy to let the pump shift slightly and as you tighten down the housing you’ll crack the mounting ears off pretty quickly. That Vss housing is pretty tough to replace. Though a bad housing from the opposite side drop 241c will go on its place from a gmt400 truck.

If I'm up to speed, he sourced another case and is just trying to make it VSS. Meanwhile, he discovered that the shift linkage had separated, and the theory is that was the only problem with the T-case. Whether the banging damaged something inside is TBD.

No I have not that will happen soon.

Correct some what. I still have the original np241 that is mechanical I want to swap parts to make it VSS, I don't think the banging damaged any thing inside. I think I heard the linking popping. I have a spare 27 spline 241 which needs a new 32 spline input.

TorqueKing was the place I went to get the parts for my 241. They should have the all the bearings in addition to the shift fork pads and everything else.

EDIT : I need a toggle switch from my pcm to a switch to let it knwo I'm in for low.

New question how do I wire in a four low ground for the ecm so it knows I'm in four low?

So it shifts! The speedo is all over the place though and when I get to higher speeds the transmission starts to hunt for gears and like pause like a down shift but then it up shifts, any ideas?

How do I make sure the vss signal is properly getting transmitted to my pcm?

Before I tear my t case back part does anyone know the tooth count on the tone ring that the factory 241 has?
