BENDER stays in hibernation with me

Making room for the cage to go in and behind the dash. Also did some weight reduction by getting rid of the left over insulation, pieces of the old dash, misc brackets, and extra throttle pedal sheetmetal. Probably dropped 1/4 lb. :D
Going through my old wiring too. Getting rid of most of the EZ Wiring stuff, just keeping it for the blinkers, horn, and couple other things. I'm putting my own fuse panel in and just running everything off switches or constant. Easier, cleaner, more trouble-shoot friendly.

Tomorrow's list is patch the heater hole and wiring.
Anyone know if the fresh air vent on the passenger side is sealed? Might close it off at the firewall and use it for my recovering bag (or something)

Choosing between the MasterCraft Nomad and the Corbeau Baja JP

Rob @rdn2blazer talked about getting the wide and tall version of the Corbeau seats but I only see the wide option.
The MasterCraft seat is taller than the Corbeau but it doesn't have a wide option, it does however look like the Corbeau wide already.

I like the tilt on the standard bolster Baja JP over the wide version and the MC Nomad. The other two are more upright.

Here is a link to both seats.

I looked at Crow and PRP but they are almost double the price. Right now I'm just looking to replace my WRX seats while the front half of the cage work is done. I would also like to find some sliders to use on the driver seat so other people can drive comfortably.

The Beard seats are pretty nice also. They have a extra wide seat too.

I would call and check with Corbeau about the tall seat option. Maybe its no longer an option or they got smart and made their seat frames taller to fit most people. I know it not onlt was an option but they had both the standard and 4" "tall" seat at the Off Road Expo when I ordered mine. I got to sit in a wide seat, and a tall seat. So I ordered with both options. The tall option was more important as my head when leaned way back hit the top of the headrest on the "standard" seat, not the headrest padding. My head placed against the headrest like its suposed to with the tall seat. Brent your taller then me so thats a must for you, at least with the Corbeau's.

Ordered up the MC Nomad seats from Amazon, should be in middle of next week.
Last night, after only a day on CList, the WRX seats are gone. Other than time and material cost to make the brackets, I got back what I paid for them some 4 years ago. So that helps.

Sh1t is going down. Empty dance floor...

I picked out the MasterCraft seat. They fit me nicely and are super comfortable to drive around in. I have no offroad experience with them yet. I'll know after Moab if I like them or not.

Truck was at the shop for a while recently, took longer than I wanted but it's done. The windshield was accidentally broken while being stored, so I gotta get a new one. Had the guy run the cage through the firewall and out to my shock hoops. I currently have ZERO space for them to run out to the bumper, just ain't going to happen. I also had some tubing added to Kert's A-bomb center. Turned out much tighter than my previous bumper. Also had the guy tie the rear fenders to the cage as I could tell they were spreading :( I got the truck back late last night so the list of things to get done before BB is short, but tedious. Mostly wiring, lights, stereo, gauges, and replace rear springs. There was a couple other things on that list but no time left to do them.

Today was just welding on some things here and there to mount specific stuff. (center console, new ammo can, hood release, front winch hook) Front bumper is painted but the cage is just primered. Still need the "hammered" top coat to match the rest of the cage. I feel like I did very little today, but damn it was a busy day.

Ho hum, just one more truck I need to really look at in Moab!

Need to:

paint top coat
add 2 new fuse boxes
run hot and ground to battery for fuse boxes
cut dash to fit cage tubes
figure out what lights I have time to add (rock, interior, bumper)
figure out what accessories I'm going to separate from the body fuse panel and add to the new fuse panels
probably use a battery isolater as a "key on" relay for one of the panels. This way I get "key on" and "constant" power sources.

Go for the Baja Ultra if you go Corbeau.

The head rest is tilted forward, and they are much more comfortable.
