Bertha, picking up where Shewheeler left off.

One quick question, I know your planning on being in the desert but how much droop would you say you loose with the spring under? Im currently thinking of going spring under with either ford or dodge packs (56 inches, lots of pin offset) and full hydro. My rear is linked and im trying to go as low as possible but I want the front to keep up with the rear. Im mainly rocks but want to do some hill killing so low COG is essential. I am flat belly, 241/205 on 44s. 120 + inch wheelbase.also going to be doing it on a 60

I dont know. I dont really know what I had before so I wont have anything to compare it to.

I need to move the shackle position in the frame forward to get a more correct shackle angle, and I think I will move it up in the frame at the same time so I can run a longer shackle.

My thinking is with the right shackle angle I can get max compression without spring to frame contact, and with a longer shackle I can gain some droop :D

Ive been seriously considering going spring under 52s or 56s, Like said up treavel doesnt really concern me, I just need droop. Trying to build a supper low truggy with no sheetmetal front clip.

Not a ton of progress

Got the trans cooler and power steering lines all plumbed with -6 junk, got the headers back from coating and bolted on, and I got some new wheels and my used 35-12.5-17 MTZs on the truck :pimp:

The only pic I got right now is of this compound angle setup to drill n tap this doohicky 1/8" NPT to put an oil pressure sender in it :pimp:

Spring under will be a major downer if you will be in the rocks at all.

Oh... oh man that is faaaaaaaancy! I think we have a Starrett compound angle tool to tap doohickies at the shop. :D

No Starrett here. Dis is how ya do it in da ghetto :D

I forgot to mention that I ordered some fiberglass last week. Made to order and it will be here in about three weeks :pimp:

I sure wish I had more time to work on this thing.

Looks way better not on 37s.

man i'm really diggin step sides lately. good looking truck! i too with i had used V-bands on my exhaust instead of 3 bolt collector flanges. i don't have any leaks but i know the v-bands will last longer.

Yes it does. Did you go with a hood? Times flying!! When's the deadline?

Yes I did. Getting a drop center hood from Auto Fab. The deadline is to be at the minimum able to to be driven onto my trailer when my new house is done :D Might even be streetable by then, might not. But Im not pushing it anywhere :D

That truck somehow just looks like fun.

I think it might be just a little bit :pimp:

Thanks :thumb: I have had many a three bolt header flange and none stayed leak free for very long. I figured if Pac Fab uses them one everything they build, I would do the same :D

One more :D
