Bertha, picking up where Shewheeler left off.

Pretty certain KTMOUTFRONT and myself saw it on top of chocolate thunder as we were coming down, we both admired it as we drove by.

Those dropped center hoods are weird, there's a k5 near my shop with one, just sitting there wasting away.

I have a question about how you welded the stainless V band to the mild steel header. Did you TIG weld it or mig? I'm tired of blowing out collector gaskets and am seriously considering those for my headers, but I only have a little Hobart handler 140 MIG.

I MIG welded them :thumb:

Progress is painfuly slow and will all but come to a stop soon. Im moving in a couple months and I gots to get packing. Im pretty excited about the move because I will have a much bigger, finished, and insulated garage that Bertha and all of my shop junk will fit in and a huge paved area beside the garage :pimp:

The 5.3 is extremely close to being 100% buttoned up. Just a couple small little things and a couple wires to hook up and it will be ready to fire :woot:

All spending on this project is officially on hold also. But I have enough parts to keep me rolling for quite a while as time permits :thumb:

Yes I did :D

I was at Kevins checking out the new twins last weekend and asked him a few project questions while we were there.

That is an 07 Avalanche upper hose (which I had at one point and returned) ,stretched to 1.5" on the radiator end :pimp:

Huckfest is October 17th:). We are already planning on going. The new house might get in the way though. So, plan on spending New Years down in Pismo.:waytogo:

Yup! I already have our ticket for huckfest and we made reservations at the condo for New Years before we left last weekend.

Another 2-3k and 100+- more hours are needed before I hit the sand :D

But its close enough to start that I picked up all the needed fluids, some fuel, and I have a battery on the charger :pimp:

I fired it late last night :pimp:

It was past my bed time and dark so I ran it for less than a minute. Gonna mess with it and let it get up to temp when I git home today :woot:

Video later :D

Dayum that thing sounds mean! I must have missed it. What did you do to the motor?

And what is the significance of truck jumping at the top of the page? Is it because its set up like yours?
