Hoping we get some rain soon but when/if we do it could be buckets.....

I think I will be able to ride Sunday the 29th most of the day. Want to shuttle or what is best to ride. I've only rode mailboxes and some of UCSC
(at least under normal/non-pandemic situations) What type of terrain do you prefer? Following!

Lol- I cant get on the bike as often as I would like so I run and weight lift... seems to keep the legs in good enough shape!Sweet! Dude you run a bunch!
Got out last weekend and was able to ride Santa Cruz w/ @2Dogs . What an awesome time! The trails are amazing!
I live in a small / moderate town something like 10-15k people.
One outfitter store with a bike shop. Huntsville is 30 minutes away with multiple outfitter and bike shops.
Walked my cruiser in the store (where I’ve been a customer for 10 years and bought the bike) needed new tubes and didn’t want to fool with it myself.
The owner got tired of me standing there waiting on him to finish with another customer and pointed me to the bike shop where the mechanic was dealing with some hot chick.
He got tired of seeing me patiently waiting as well and told me he didn’t have the size tube I needed and that I should try Amazon. He also gave me instructions on how to change the tube and was done with me.
I’m glad he told me about Amazon as if I were the only person on earth that hadn’t heard of it.
So much for supporting local business.

I've ridden in the low 30's.And,unlike other years, I'm riding in December. I've never been a winter rider, but 18 degrees isn't bothering me this year. So now the question is just how cold is too cold..

I bought the bike at that store and they still sell it there. We're you looking for some oddball size like my 32-597 S6/S7 Schwinn-proprietary tires?
Or do they just not stock much at that shop?![]()
It's "what they do". If they don't do "what they do" then what do they do?

That about as cold as I want to ride.
We had a very unusual 5f here a few years ago and I went for a run. I actually enjoy running below freezing. I think it freezes all of the moisture out of the air and is more tolerable that damp low 30's.
I still don't want to try the bike that cold though.
Congrats on the mileage!! There is always the huge debate on e-assist bikes but in my opinion you are still out there... and you can dial the assist back as you get in better shape?
Up here in Michigan I ride year around.. we have some fun groomed fat bike trails. The cold is not bad as long as you are in the right state of mind and have the proper gear! I almost enjoy it more...there is something about flying through a snow covered single track.
I agree on the running in the cold too- there is that point though... the just how cold is too cold? lol

Yep! Grand Rapids area.. but lots between here and the bridge. And some good ones in the UP but cant make it up there as easy..I assume lower Michigan?
My miles are almost all commuting rather than trail rides. It's bumpy rural roads, city intersections, and one stretch of state highway. The highway is going to be unfun once the shoulder fills up with snow plow pack. But we've been dry enough that it's not a problem yet.
