Blazer Bash 2011: 4-day "Schedule of Events"

Atleast you have plenty of time to fix it before BB. I have alot more work than that.:eek1: We have a cabin reserved so hopefully I have a blazer to haul out. Plan on leaving thursday morning and coming back monday. I guess there is always the Jeep (i know its a bad word) rental thing.

I spoke with Stephen at ORD and he suggests new motor monts to prevent it from happining again.

Also make sure your t-case mounts aren't putting the cases in a bind against the motor mounts too. A local guy had a t-case crossmember that wasn't square and then it was tightened to frame it was constantly trying to twist drivetrain and broke his TH400 case too.

You also want to make sure that your tranny mount is very compliant (like a stock mount). As your frame twists the transfer case needs to be able to twist with the engine if you have stiff mounts up there.

When I put my doubler in, the crossmember I originally designed did not allow for much movement and I kept breaking loose the bolts that mounted the t-case adapter to my 700R4. A redesign of the crossmember fixed the issue.

Thanks for the input!

UTCH 4130 I may take you up on the offer...the doubler is heavy :waytogo:.

I have one crossmember with two mounts on it....one under the 203 (stock mounts) and one under the 205.
They both have the energy suspension bushings. The frame is also boxed back to the rear of the crossmembers to help eliminate some of the frame twist.

I am thinking that the TH400 had a small crack in the case when I put it in because it has not spread in the year since I noticed it. I have been through Carnage twice, Holy Cross, and a trip to Moab without the crack spreading .

Anyway, I will be fixing it so that I don't have to worry about it.

Just dropped my 4l80e off to be rebuilt for the very same problem! Except my rig also needs a solid front axle swap, full suspension built, beadlocks for the 37s etc etc etc...

Nothing like building a rig from stock just for a single wheeling trip! haha

Of course wouldn’t put it out there is I wasn’t sincere. I’ve been working on my toy all winter it would be nice to play with something new. My work schedule is a little crazy but send me a message when you’re ready.

Sounds like a working meet & greet. Let me know when. If the weathers is good. I will ride my bike up and help.

Wow I was just trying to be funny:dunno:, really though it sounds like a long way to travel for a meet and great/work when we will not even get to wheel. Maybe in may we can do a trail run in the middle somewhere like Wheeler Lake for newbie’s to blazer bash. It could be a pre pre vehicle inspection. That way for people’s rig that are not ready could be ready by Sept. Maybe include a BBQ and registration day.

We might be able to set something up. I'd like to run Chinaman's Gulch sometime this summer and that would be a good place to accomplish something like that for the CO guys.

I think a meet and greet is a great idea :waytogo:.

I am having a new driveway and R/V (Blazer and trailer) pad pored this weekend and will not be ready to pull the tranny before that. Hopefully the weekend of April 30th I will get started. I don't think it will take more than a few hours to pull the tranny. Hopefully I will be putting it back in on May 7th. The tranny shop said they would need it for two days so I think this schedule will work.

As for running a trail....I am always up for anything (Wheeler, Chainman’s, Carnage, Holy Cross, or even Slaughter House) to test out the fresh tranny.

As for a meet and greet....anyone who wants to help pull the doubler and tranny is welcome.
We can get together at my house in Arvada or anywhere people want to meet :D.

Chainman’s sounds fun, I've never been there, it looks like it has lots of space too for some BBQing. The only bad thing is if anybody wants to come up from ft collins its a little bit of a drive.
Pancake, if you wait till sunday I can help out but saturday I have to work, send me a PM and I'll give you my number.

I'd be making the trip from north of Greeley, but it's still worth the drive. Chinaman's is one of my favorite trails. It has some good challenges and many can be bypassed. I think it's fun for just about any level of truck that's kinda in the middle of the scale as far as being "built". As in I wouldn't take a stock K5 through (been there, tried that, wasn't that great) and it might be boring for highly modified truck. But if you've got at least a good set of 33's and one locker, you'll have fun all day long.

I will be pulling the tranny this weekend and should have it back in next weekend.

If all goes as planned I should be ready to wheel by the weekend of May 14th and 15th.

This is not the only time I can wheel but the soonest I can .

I am up for a meet and greet / wheeling trip that weekend or any time after that.

Let me know what you guys are thinking.

UTCH 4130 I sent you a PM.

I don't think Frances ( my K5 ) will be ready by then but the fallowing sunday the 22nd should work.

thought this was a bb thread lol wish i could make it over to the eastern slope.
