And I got muddy so the fun left me.

I have always thought the big shock hoops and angry brow halos were an awful style.
The cars sit nice and low, so to get up travel they need the hight.
I'm in the paralysis by analysis phase of the project honestly. I've thought about a wholesale sell of of the entire thing, but then I loose some pretty cool parts that I simply won't replace either because of time or money or both. Brake Man calipers and that whole setup is just one little piece that's expensive parts that I would not have.
Reality is that I probably will do nothing but fix it and do minor work for now, try to get the family rig headed some direction then plan in the cost of a new chassis into the family budget. Even then I bet I only have the base chassis with interior panels, rear axle housing, transmission, maybe doubler unless ORD wants to keep it, and the radiator that I would be selling. The rest of it would get transferred in some way to help save on expenditures.
How I wish to be independently wealthy and just have Jimmy's build a complete 4 seater.
I watched a guy in a really nice Jimmys buggy going up Chocolate Thunder in the dark when I was down at Hammers. The thing just went anywhere he pointed it. He was trying places that weren't even lines just to see what it would go up. I was really impressed.

I know your family is different from mine, but a 4-seater buggy would be a waste for me. The only trails my entire family would ride with me on would be the ones that your modified crew cab pickup would do fine on. Most of the time I only have 1 passenger. Most of the people I've talked to over the years only have 1 kid that really likes to go wheeling and usually the wife isn't interested either. That's the way it's worked out for me. Granted all 4 of us went more often when the kids were younger, but that's definitely changed in the past 5 years.
Personally I'd love to be in your exact position; a 2-seater buggy for the more extreme trails and a comfortable 4-seater pickup with AC and all the amenities for the easier trails. Unfortunately I'm kinda stuck in the middle; a pickup that's over built for most trails but no AC or heated seats for comfortable easy trail riding.
The 4 seat buggy idea is a bit of a hard deal, as it is I had both kids wanting to go with me this year at BB, and as they are both getting more interested in out door stuff I don't want to hamper that at all. My wife really doesn't care to partake in my shenanigans and worries that I'll corrupt and hurt the kids. I don't foresee either of my kids being sports types, my daughter may do sports later but as of 1st grade she has no interest in things other than horses, horse showing and doing things with me. Hell she helped me trim out a new exterior door yesterday just to do something with me since I don't hang out inside the house much.
I look at the different vehicles like this, the Crew cab might entice my wife to join in some easy scenic trails local to my house, and it gives me a truck to do truck things when she takes my diesel truck to horse shows. The 4 seat buggy idea allows the 1 time a year the whole family goes wheeling and otherwise lets me either invite a friend to come along with my kid or kids or they can have a friend or friends along. A new 4 seater will probably be lighter and more capable than what I have right now too. In some number of years from now (daughter is only 7) I can always go back to a two seater if that makes more sense.
Those are both fairly easy fixes, a lot easier than building a whole new rig.
The Jimmy had 2 back seats when it was built 13 years ago. 3 years later the back seats came out as the kids did there own thing. Son in the air force. Daughter hated us for moving her to Colorado.
Now the right seat rarely gets used.
