After 2 weeks in Moab my list was pretty small.
- I cut the tire that I replaced while we were there in the S-10.
- My pre-bent rear driveshaft is significantly more bent now on the S-10
- the A/C control knob on the S-10 broke, we almost called AAA out to Pritchette for a tow, but we decided to risk it and drive it back to camp.
- One of the radius arm bolts on the Silverado got loose and I had to tighten it. I put a weld washer on the other side when it did the same thing a month ago, but I didn't have time to do both. For whatever reason the WFO mount has an 11/16" hole for a 5/8" bolt and it's tough to keep them tight.
Then we drove home... We took a different way home that brought us South on the 191 across the Rez in AZ towards Heber. They were doing construction on all the bridges over the washes, there were 5 that were cut down to 1 lane with the new bridge side wall/k-rail on the right side and a temporary K-rail on the left, each crossing was a single lane with automated stop lights on either side of the bridge to allow traffic in both directions. I made it through the first 3 with no issues, but the 4th one was NARROW, I should have been more careful when the Colorado in front of me slammed on his brakes before crossing but I made the incorrect assumption that it would be at least the minimum 10' lane width and drove slowly (10mphish) across while staying as close as I could to the drivers side... It was not 10' wide and I now have a big scrape down the entire side of my RV and a bent spare tire mount on the trailer...
I opened a complaint with ADOT but I have no idea if anything will come of it. The RV is 8.5' wide for reference and Amber was saying I only had about 6" on my left when I hit so I'd guess it was 9-9.5' wide rather than the 10' minimum. She also said she noticed a lot of scratches on the wall besides the ones I put there. The construction sites were abandoned because it was Saturday and I didn't feel like risking my life to get an accurate measurement on a bridge that was too narrow for just a car much less a car and a person.
