Mine has one, only problem I had was on the way to Moab in the heat from state line on.

That's when mine whined the most too.
Mine had one as well. That said, every failure I had was when I was stuck at an extreme angle for a long time. I probably starved the pump for fuel, then cooked it while it was empty. A better baffle, or one of those fuel mats would probably have saved me.
You know diesels don't have these fuel pump issues you speak of...just sayin'.
"Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) is recalling approximately 222,410 units of its 2019 to 2020 Ram 2500/3500 pickups and Ram 3500/4500/5500 Chassis Cabs equipped with the 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel. The recall-affected trucks are equipped with the Bosch CP4 high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) that could fail prematurely."
My parents have one of these. They cant even get on an appointment to have the work done. Parts don't exist. Diesels have plenty of problems too.
@HankScorpio i was going to say check with pre 3rd gen 24v owners, nothing but fuel pump problems.
Was just coming to post that. I was one of them. 3rd gens had some issues as well.
That's because it's a DODGE!
The recall also effects the 1500 v6 diesel, parts are at least 6 months out last we heard
Went to the pull and pay and snagged a fresh spindle, spindle nuts and scored another pair of warm premium hubs. I stopped on the way home and picked up fresh bearings/races and a new wheel seal.

I have an external pump with no issues to date. It’s mounted below the fuel tank and is fed with -10 lines. My return is off the fuel rail with an external regulator.

I’ve got an 06 with 210k, I’m scared it’s going to need injectors in the next year or so.
I sold my 06 with 160k because it started showing signs and I didn’t have the money for injectors. Regret selling the truck but got out of debt and had enough left to buy my next car cash so not all terrible.
You don’t even need a TBI tank.

After soaking for a week in pb blaster and a 4 foot breaker bar u bolts came loose , broken center pin is out new one in now just to find where all my u bolts are.
I wondered if you were going to break out the blue tipped wrench or sawzall on the u-bolts.

My pump came in that I almost had overnighted to Blazer Bash. Holley 12-308, made for the saddle tank, has a built-in regulator and output of 58 PSI. Also works with the factory gauge and has a HydraMat.
