With the changing of the guard I felt it was probably smart to get a thread going on the 2023 edition of Blazer Bash.

Status at this point in time is I have formed an LLC to put on the event as suggested by Wade. The new process with the county has a deadline for applications for 3rd quarter events as of the first Monday in January. That will be in by the weekend online.

Many other procedural things need to happen behind the scenes but I won’t bore you all with it.

But if there are any questions about 2023 post up here. I’ll keep giving updates as they are available.

The only thing I ask of the group is keep in mind that there can and will be others that may monitor our public forum. I don’t want to give anybody ammo about our group going off about the city or county. Shoot me a pm first before posting about it please.

It’s a new process so we need to work it in the way that we have in the past with integrity.

First weekend after Labor day. Officially, September 8th, 9th and 10th.

I vote that the event be moved to Windrock Off Road Park in Tennessee.

Fixed it for you. Moab is still a bucket list destination that many want to try even if it’s just once. Though the traction is pretty addictive.

That’s close to being in the gnome’s backyard. If someone was willing to put in the effort I’m sure a certain local would lend a hand. Though I wouldn’t expect him to run it, he’s earned a break.

I was just clowning around, even if BB ever moved anywhere else Moab would still be a bucket list place for me.

My first BB had weather like that, maybe 2014. Wake up to a light misting, wheel in low/mid 70s if I remember right.

I call BS on that, hooking me and then 90-100* each year after.

With the new process I'm discovering new wrinkles they are throwing into the mix. The feedback I've received is that on our Intent To Apply (ITA) we need to specify which trails we will run on that form. As in now, and they can't be changed later during the application process. We've never made the trail choices this far ahead, but we've got to do it in order to comply with the new process. I'll start a new thread with thought starters for the trail selections. We need to come to a conclusion by the end of the week so I can get the ITA set and moving. We can discuss the trail choices in the other thread and any questions to the process will stay over here.
