Blazer Bash 2023 General Discussion thread **see latest post for updates **Registration closing tonight 9/6/23***

Well I was sticker shocked, and now that here it's doesn't include insurance, even more sticker shocked.

Still not clear if passenger is $42.74 ea trail or whole weekend ?

I was looking at Trail Hero in Sand Hollow out of curiosity and it's $50 per trail. I couldn't really find anything stating it included any extra stuff.

Fullsize invasion is $180 and includes a sticker.
The cost is more than fair and comparable to similar events.

Anyone concerned about needing a PayPal account, I did a test purchase without my PayPal account. I did have provide an email so I used one not associated with my PayPal account. I used a credit card to complete the transaction. You do have to provide an email and phone number. I received a receipt and another email saying I needed to create a password to finish setting up my account, which I ignored.

So you don't technically have to create an account, but I'm sure they'll send emails over some period of time trying to get me to finish setting up an account. I use an email account setup for just this purpose (situations where I need to give an email that's sure to lead to a bunch of junk email) and my old landline phone number I no longer have. I can understand this isn't an ideal scenario, but I wanted to throw it out there if it helps anyone.

I think the passenger thing is more like a donation after one. One would help cover the bbq. Anything beyond that helps pay for the insurance and overages. (I think)

The BLM and SITLA permits are based on the number of people, passengers and drivers. We've always been kinda low key about everyone paying for passengers to try and keep the overall cost for everyone down, because it can usually be covered thru the other revenue streams. But it does help making ends meet if passengers are paid for.

Whats the story with the easy trails? I see a handful listed Friday and Saturday, is it pick your own adventure or are there that many groups running easy trails? Is it TBD?

I'm doing Easy trails whole weekend I think Zoo had planned on easy until the crawlabego crapped the bed.

Oh like a bunch of scenic stuff that's near each other? Points of interest. I haven't done most of those so I have no clue what to expect. I'm trying to find the least seat time each day.

So, what's going on is there are multiple run together. On Friday, Potash road leads you to Thelma and Louise point and onto the Schaffer switchbacks. On Saturday, you have to go over Hurrah pass to get to Chicken corners.

Linking some together just gives a little more time on the trail. In the case of Friday, just going out to Thelma and Louise point and coming back to town could have you back to town by lunchtime. Continuing on to the switchbacks get one a taste of the White Rim trail in Canyonlands. Even then when I led that trail a couple of years ago we still got up the switchbacks before lunch. I think we had 6 trucks that time so we could move without too much delay and covered ground pretty quickly.

Friday will be a loop coming back on the highway, which will make sure we are back in time for the BBQ. Saturday, Chicken Corners is an out-and-back trail. That one could be longer just because of the distance we are going off pavement. This is why it's on Saturday as it could have us coming back to town later in the afternoon. It's not a slow trail, but for those of us not on links and coilovers, rally mode could be more punishing. @AgDieseler and I went out onto that trail last year before BB and I'll say he could maintain more speed in the rougher dirt road sections than I could. We were out there most of the day, though our long BS session for lunch ate up enough time we didn't quite make it to the overlook at the end of the Chicken Corners trail. We were back by 6:00 if I remember right.

I hope that helps explain the method to the madness.

My favorite trail that year. Great lunch spot, but I definitely want to make it to the overlook next time.

Just finished registering.

What’s going on with shirts? I know you said earlier that it was a stretch to have them for the event but still would be interested in getting a couple to add to the collection.

Working shirts but at this point, they won't be done prior to the event and I'll have to mail them. Once I know the pricing I'll post it up.

Yes, we'll want a couple also! Thanks so much for all the work you put into all this. We're looking forward to a fun weekend!

Do you have a vendor to print them? I have a couple leads if you need them. One is a hot rodder in Seattle, the other is a biker on the east coast, but both are great at the art/design and reasonably priced.

The design work is already done by Mrk5, so we are good there. Getting pricing from vendors. PM me the info and I'll check into them.

Tried Scott's method, which will create an account you can't access. Didn't work.

Need guest merchant checkout.
