Blazer build with pics

Hahaha, you know Mitch!!! Small world, he goes to my church. Mines no wheeler yet, too tight on funds to do much than fix what's wrong with mine for now...

Regarding the tireless wheels, I have to do the same thing to get mine into the garage. What I found works best is the composition lap siding from Home Depot etc. it's thin enough to get me in the door but thick enough not to crack and saved my driveway.

wooohooo!

Painted and installed hood, instrument cluster, seat belts, trim, some other things. Oh and dont forget... the tires! Only have 4 lug nuts a wheel at the moment so no test drive for now :(. Im still pumped I got it out and on the tires. It looks mean. The dumb grin on my face shows my excitement haha.

on with the pictures!

looks good man..... :D

I used to live in Bangor about 20 yrs ago.. love it out there...

fwiw, glad to see you put lumber on those cement blocks.... in the future you may wanna turn them 90 degrees, they are stronger with the holes on top and bottom....

Thanks, coming from you that means a lot. Yeah I like Pa but not as much as Texas because I don't like the cold. I'll keep that in mind next time I use those cement blocks. Any chance that rig of yours will be at Rausch this summer?
Also can someone give me a rundown on how to trim the back side of the front fenders? Its a lip and do you cut away the floorboards or what?

I'm hoping to be roadworthy come august so it's possible.. definitely a spot i wanna hit...

you can trim the fenders back a couple inches before you get into the wheelwell...

Or just trim back as far as you want and "persuade" the wheel well back with a hammer. I've done that to stop the slight rubbing I was getting.

truck came out nice. You putting stock bumpers back on, or do you have other plans. I think you should paint the side mirrors black.

Thanks guys. Now I just have to wait a week for my dad to get back from his business trip to get it inspected. Also have to drive it 20 continuos miles to break the new gears in.
QUESTIONS :

Does anyone know if I'll get any crap for the 5 points, roll cage, lift, tires etc at the inspection?

I was also thinking of getting a square tube for the rear bumper. Anyone have any pics of an easy to make rear bumper and dimensions of the tube?

Also I need 9/16 and 18 thread lug nuts because my wheel holes are to small for the k30 lugs, cant fit a wrench in to tighten them. I hate these wheels... h1's in the future. Anyways can someone point me in the rite direction to find these online? I'm a little confused there are alot of shapes out there.

I appreciate it.

Depends on where you take it to get inspected you will need a rear bumper, mud flaps and make sure the bumper heigth is 30 inches. Since the tires dont stick out that real good, they cant bother you with that. Like i said depends on where you take it...lol...With the rear body cut so far up the bumper and flaps would be good to stay outa trouble. They do check emisions under the hood, exhaust and for cats, if you get a cool place they will look over it. For the wheels long acorn style lug nuts should be ok, If you have a a&a auto store they have a large selection on the wall. Those wheels were pretty popular(american racing oulaw 2) so lug nuts will be an easy find.

I can't remember if you posted what type of exhaust you have, but in Northampton county you can get an emission exemption sticker if you have owned it for at least a year, and if you drive it less than 5000 miles a year... If you still have the cat and smog pump on there you will be fine, anything older than 1994 only has to pass a visual inspection for emissions. There is also the possibility of finding a shop that will let you slide by...

Thanks. Also do you guys use anything to prevent tire theft. Wheel locks or whatever? Any recommendations?
Also I don't know wall thicknesses of tube and all so what would be a good thickness for a square tube bumper?
