Blazer Campers- The not a Chalet thread. FWC, Hallmark, Phoenix units.

Thank you! I will check out your builds.
Congrats Cody. That’s a solid unit to start with. Ron was on the mark that both our builds have plenty of detail bringing one back from the dead.

I wouldn’t bother trying to rebuild or replicate the lifting panels. Follow my thread about using electrical conduit to make them. It works better and they won’t rot out if some moisture gets inside.

But I’m getting ahead of myself. To answer your question how they attach to the Blazer, they do bolt on similar to the factory top except along the back of the cab. Meaning the camper originally bolts down to the bed rails only. That’s no bueno if you want to keep the diver attached at highway speeds and be sealed up from weather. That’s one of the important mods that I did to mine and Ron did to his. I know of one blazer camper getting blown off in transport on a blazer tha was only bolted to the rails. Shredded. Noting left. So follow what we did.

The other big change I would do despite the solid condition of your unit is replace the forward wall tha mates to the cab and the cab over section. Both are particle board and will swell like a sponge if they get an ounce of moisture. Plus you can open up the pass through to match the cab or you won’t be able to put the driver side seat all the way back or recline if your seat can. You will be able attach a section of a stock top to the front to allow the camper to bolt to the cab correctly and seal it up too.

I’ve done this to two units and have the details in this thread and mine. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask at all.

Man, thank you! Thats extremely helpful. I'm excited to clean this up and get another one back on the road. It sounds like I got my work cut out for me. I will have to source an old top, maybe one thats already broken as id hate to cut up my original one.
