MAN!! ...I have always wanted one of these. I wonder if he would just sell the camper shell, cause that k5 looks pretty bad .

I'll have to see about getting the serial number / build date on this one, it isn't one already in my mega-spreadsheet list.
Usually around 50+ for sale around the country as either full vehicles or orphaned camper units. Map I created here that corresponds with the list of ones 'for sale' that I keep at our Chalet forum (see link for the forum in my sig below).

Camper is not portable. You can move it to a new K5, but as a permanent install. Transporting the camper without a K5 is also a challenge. To remove the shell it needs lots of support and stuff.
I also suspect that guy is off by 10 model years.
Exchanged a couple of emails with the seller when he first had it listed at $20 grand on 3/19, I think that's what prompted him to mention the serial # this time. I was also sorta hoping he'd do a bit more research on these in order to spot how his price is a bit on the optimistic side. Considering what's missing (camper stripes, cabinet latches, fridge panel, etc) and the work it needs done to get it back to factory showroom-new, I'd say his new lower price is still around double what it is worth .....

Saw this in the parking lot of JC Penney's (ok, so it was Macy's apparently lol) at Capital Mall in Olympia last night!
Didn't want to be too nosy, but it has a faded "coloradok5.com" sticker across the top of the windshield. Waited a bit, owner didn't come out while I was there.

Dang! I missed this post when it came out. That one could be Chalet #1060, which last I heard was for sale by our member imiceman44 - but I haven't been able to contact him, and his last activity here was back in Sept 2015. And from the changeover in the CK5 forum system, I can't find his old thread listing this one for sale.
Took a while for logic to settle over the seller....
If that's #1060, somebody put some time into cleaning it up, buffing the paint and such. That particular truck spent many years in the Vegas desert and it showed. Dorian, was it a yellow windshield banner, do you recall?

The other tell-tale detail is whether the truck paint surrounding the tan accent area has squiggles to it that would match what used to be the remains of the vinyl stripes. Looks like it does have 'em on the rear quarter panel area. Then of course there is the serial number plate under that black oval plate by the rear door, and whether it says 7BCA01060 or some other sequence for the last 4 digits, if you have another chance to see it.

Looks yellow to me! All I remember about the back was that a hasp and padlock had been added to the door of the camper. I didn't want to spend too much time lurking around the truck, and didn't know where the ID plate was.

Meanwhile, in using this other photo below, it looks to me like whoever has it now cut down the (Rustoleum primer colored?) rack behind the front spare. Plus, there appears to be a darker color on the front driver's side fender where the larger swath of original 3-color stripes used to be. I just wonder if Iceman moved to WA, or if he ended up selling it to somebody.

Regarding the 'for sale' list I keep at the Chalet forum, I hold on to really old listings until I hear the rigs or orphaned shells are gone, since sometimes they never get sold.
The want is extremely high right now... This looks like a STEAL for someone!
