Blazer is really done. Last pictures while she is still mine.

Awesome buildup!! I've got a love hate relationship with my caddy. I'm torn between building a BBC over time and replacing the caddy or get as much info/research done so I can really "build" the caddy all at once. It's definitely a fun motor though. Can't complain about the grunt of that thing. I can't wait to see how yours turns out.

Couple more items knocked off the to-do list this evening.

Fuel tank mounts are in place as well as the air tank mounts. Lots of welding to do.

Hopefully a pictoral update at some point.

How dare you post in your own thread with out pictures for me to look at!

But no seriously pictures would be great when you get a chance.:D

Got some stuff to take pictures of but in the shop the photos always look like ass. When I get an opportunity to roll it outside I'll get some good shots.

Making some changes to the front clip.

Kinda complicated for a "Black water" tank.

New tunnel or dog house fabricated. Some changes to the roll cage tubing and a repaint. Prepped for roll on liner.

An underside shot of the Fuel tank skid plate. 7ga. steel. Maybe a bit overkill but it was in the table this morning.

Top side shot. Still needs to be welded on the 2 frame sides and across the front crossmember. Tomorrow evening, I'll finish that up. Got tired of the heat today.

Air intake tube. It runs from the engine bay through the fire wall, the plate you see welded on is the fire wall mounting flange. Lays on the left side of the passenger foot well and goes on out the back of the cab up to the top of the cage but still inside.

Lined the interior this evening and finished the fuel tank skid plate.

Hopefully tomorrow the tank will be finished and some reassembly completed on the rear of the rig.

am I missing something, or are you actually skeered of poopin in the woods? or does "black water" tank refer to something else?

Oh boy, and now you got stage fright and can't talk about poopin on the interwebbers. :D

Yeah, $25 a piece walbro pickups for turd water drainage just dont make sense. hahaha. I'm diggin the "blackwater" pickup. I need to make one of those soon.

I forgot about this thread. To answer a very old question:

1. Offset ground the rod journels to 2.20, smoothed all the crank casting marks & throws. Nitrited crank.
2. 6.800 Chevy BB rods.
3. Ordered one off Ross pistons. .040 over

Rotating assembly was a lot lighter than stock. After balancing it my crankshaft throws looked like swiss cheese.

I am running 902 heads with same valves as you. They were port matched & had a little bowl work.

Just a heads up, I broke two rocker arm shafts the trip before last. The bolts holding them down backed out on one side & the rocker arm pressure broke them. After a long talk w/ Mr. Potter, I ordered 3 from Potter & re-installed them with loc-tite. Went back & put loc-tite on all of them. He said I should have used loc-tite to begin with but I failed to do that. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Good to know. I'll make sure that gets done.

Other than the stroking our engines are similar. We're knife edging the crank and smoothing it up as well.

I knife edged too. I was having a brain fart ealier & could not think of that term. Yes they are very similar. I need to inject mine though. I am running a performer intake with a Q-jet.

Some shots of the first coat of bed liner stuff and the air intake tube routing.

Last shots from inside the tank. Hope to have the tank sealed and installed this evening. Rear bumper back on and ready to do some plumbing.

And a header for Mikey's rig. It had to move a couple inches so we put a little heat too it. Hard to see from the photo but there is a bottle jack under the collector for applying pressure the direction we needed it to move.

I did up some aluminum beadlock outers today for the blazer. Got a couple passes to do in the lathe yet. I get asked alot if we can do them so I wanted to try a set for proof of theory more than anything. They are kinda blingy.
