Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

To clean for a baja. Plenty of vw's for cheap that are beat up to make a baja out of.
Plus that is a 6v swing axle rear, if original, 69 up IFS are better to start with

Staying like it is for now. He wants to paint it not sure what color yet. It was a sunroof and the guy made it not a sunroof, looks rather good too. It has the wrong deck lid, its a 67 deck lid. It has a narrowed disc braked front end, with 4 lug, so that is getting adaptors on it, it even came with them.
In Utah you can register it with OG 64 plates, they are green. Or go with a set of vintage plates which are not as cool but cheaper. He is trying to decide on which to do.
Carb needs some love and it doesn't have a heat riser so that needs to be addressed. Since we don't live in California.

yeah heat riser will do wonders, in the cold climate. Try to stay away from pic34-3, you can run a 34 just not a -3 pita to adjust. Maybe some dual Kadrons.

do the J tubes have the heat exchanger still ?
Couple of things about Beatles, all the grounds are suspect, each light has it's own ground. If it were mine I'd swap out the German bullet fuses for an ATC fuse block.

Cold wind can enter the cabin via the dash, the defroster vents don't seal to dash well, plus fuse box and other areas, fill a big trash bag with bubble wrap and keep it stuffed up against dash in the front. Iirc there was/is a trunk lining, but it isn't air tight.
Now I want another Beatle lol

He replaced the fuse box with a aftermarket one.
No heat risers on the exhaust, no heater boxes either, and the tubes on the fan shroud are also gone.

https://vwparts.aircooled.net/ these guys are really good I have used them for some stuff. Just south of SLC so kinda in the area. If you are planing on adding the heater back be sure to inspect all the tubing, sills, A pillars, and defroster ducts. Don't buy a dog house by year, get one by type of current oil cooler installed. Be wary of cheap fans. German is the best, hard to find. Some Brazil are ok.
