Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

Well took some pics but didn't really get what your wanting to see but here they are. I will get one looking at it from the side so you can see how it runs between the frame and the spring. It is closer to the frame then the spring but has plenty of room on both.

I also have a lean anybody know how to fix it thinking it might be the rear shackels and a bit of binding that is going on there.

thanks i kept my front mount and moved th rear so clerance is tighter than you have whith the front mount moved.Which way does it lean front to back left to right? guesing right to left... might be weight or somethig mine does a bit also thinking flexy suspension and a little bind in shackles. Planing on drilling my flip for grease fittings and geting greasable bolts.. I also noticed after i flexed it the stock spring bushings where tweeked. They did not return to center all the way check your's out.

Yeah I think its the rear shackels they are rubbing on the springs cuz they have the bigger diameter ends. So I will have to do some trimming or buy other ones might just get other ones cuz I want them a little longer

The front shock towers are in, one of my last what I thought major projects actually turned out rather easy. I went to the F**D store and spent $36 for some shock towers and did a little cutting welding and bolting.

Shocks may be here today

:D

Small Hichjack.

Do you (or anyone else) have a picture of your F**d shock towers installed with shocks on the left side where it crosses the steering shaft? I'd realy like to see anyone with Gen I installations?

I don't have any pics of that but what I did was basically just notched them to fit around the shaft.

On a different note things I learned yesterday.
Centered 56's don't keep the tires out of the fender very well
My bumpstops are to short so they need to be longer
37" inch tires are big

Sounds like you got the tires all mounted up after I left.

As to the bumpstops, I told you that thing was way flexy when you started it up. Have a great trip down south.

was going back over you're pics it looks like you may have the pinion pointed up a bit , might need a shim.

It is a CV rear driveshaft and the pinion is pointed nearly perfectly at the TC output. At least from what I saw when I was up there. He should be down at the Bash by now, at least that was his plan. He still had a few little loose ends to tie up before heading out, but they shouldn't have delayed him any.

I was reading back over and he noted a couple pages back maybe it got adressed i know the 64 like to axle wrap easier so if its already up might over rotate. Hope it all works out this weekend

I think he was hoping to have a couple of days to shakedown before heading down, but he ran out of time. It is amazing to see how much flex he gets out it when he is just sitting there, it ought to do really good on the rocks. Not sure on axle wrap though. I do know that it is a long travel shaft, so it shouldn't pull itself apart.

hes down there....he said the flex is just insane....prob gonna end up cutting more of his fenders...

Im not... my transfer case took a crap on me 240 miles out and I spent 3 days at my inlaws getting it fixed..blew the BB budget and had to come back home.

Well I'm back couple of scatches and a little dent later and all is good. Had one issue didn't like turning right very much but thats what a K turn is for. I don't have any pictures of it doing anything cuz I was driving and had no spotter but if you see a burb in the Moab pictures had to be me cuz it was the only one!!!! :D

Yes fenders need lots more cutting and no axle wrap and no vibration issus at all even at 80 mph + with 37 inch tires
