Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

Yea I called, wanted to see how much you paid for your shock towers, but the other lost soul, my brother, answered my question for me.

No I am going to be ready, with out a doubt, Rusty says he going to spot me into a tree so that I have body damage

The brakes are done got the lines in Blue it was that or rubber black or red thought blue would go better.

Drive shafts are at Tom Woods should be done today

Shocks are ordered and should be here Wednesday or Thursday

Floor is cut out and shifter location is figured out. The Pro Stick isn't going to fit if I want to keep my console so looks like the column shift stays for now.

Trying to figure out something for a park brake, got nothing figured out yet

that yellow step side I was looking at had a line lock that used a key..it was a cirlce key like the ones on soda machine locks...you push in the brake peddle and then you could lock it if you wanted to...nice idea for security..there only gonna take your truck if they bring a flat bed that way.

Yeah I was thinking about that if it was in park and someone bumped any three of the sticks it could get rolling really easy.

The front shock towers are in, one of my last what I thought major projects actually turned out rather easy. I went to the F**D store and spent $36 for some shock towers and did a little cutting welding and bolting.

I welded the stock bump stop to the bottom of the tower then bolted the tower to the frame. should be ok unless I take it flying and hit the bump stops hard

Driveshafts are done they will be in today

Shocks may be here today

Shifter mounts are due in on Friday

:D

I also had to take out my rear air lines  so might go a different direction with the air conditioning

the inner fenders holes are straighter then the picture looks

Well the shocks are in

Drive shafts are in
Ended up redoing the rear twice but now its a full 1350 CVed rear shaft front is a 1310 CVed. Need to buy new bolts for the rear but thats no biggy

Triple stick is in one of the 205 shifter rails is a little tight so going to emery cloth it tomorrow.

Going to bleed the brakes tomorrow and may be go for a ride :D

I really do need a park brake of some kind most likely before BB

That is about all for now  I have to weld the floor back together and the spare tire well. Change the fluid in the front diff and paint the cover. then get the exhaust done on Wednesday. Then I have to tighten the the column, and figure out some sort of bumpers. That should be about all to do before the Bash.

The road manners aren't all that bad does ride really smooth. Steering wheel could be straighter but thats fixable.

Say, that looks swell!

I got mine on tires today too, but only to look at it. :D Need to find my damn wrench so I can tighten the spring bolts. :( I have a feeling a certain small person in my household may have something to do with their disappearance.

Awesome, before I read the post, I was wondering what you were going to do for bumpers now. Getting close to ready for the bash, and it is almost here. Looking good.

Replaced three of the four old lug studs I had and put new lug nuts on the front, that was it for Monday. Did spend some time looking for some steel for my bumpers not much luck.

Wow its been like two days since I have posted anything in here

got the exhaust done
did alot of welding on the console and trying to figure out how to mount the boots for the shifter. Burned some carpet and got a nice flash tan

I still need to trim more around the pipe then weld the back panel in. The system is a single 3 in with a flowmaster 40. The left side as in drivers pipe is run below the oil pan. It actually gives it more clearance from the differential. the space under the flexplate would have been tighter and had drive shaft issues.

I got the power steering hose fixed had a bad fitting.

Other then that not to much new bumpers are today and Saturday

Did do some flexing done
