Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

Some of us in the know, know that they are chops. Look cool though. Only I have the real thing :woot:

Have an issue though not sure I can fix.

When we built the cage, we did not take into consideration the top is narrower then the bottom. So the sides fit but have a bit of a round look to them from the back.

I may be able to take some more off the top of the window to fix it. Will have to take a look at it in the daylight and see.

But hey thanks for the compliments.

So this is with the side welded on.

Have changed it a bit since the picture.

One thing that plays goofy on the eye is when the back got narrowed the lines went down visually. They are straight but from a distance they look like they go down. So I cut it and redid it so it actually goes up but from a distance looks straight.

The back is going to look round unless I make the bottom about a foot wider on each side. Thats not going to happen. So it is going to look a bit round, for now.

So I got most of it all done, with some help from Riley.

Both rear fenders are on. Should have went with the not mashed version. The passenger side, because the tail light housing is bent, the fender mounted an inch or two longer then the drivers.

Roof is done if I get adventurous and grind down the welds may even look good.

taillights wired and working

Still need to paint it all. Mount the bed floor. Bleed the brakes, back ones basically not working right now.

Spent about an hour of wasted time trying to figure out the fuel filler hole. Ya no good do it will have just a whole for a bit.

Picture is before the passenger side was welded on.

Other then that seems to be pretty good.

One day I am going to not have to rebuild my truck the week before the Bash....... well probably not.

Tires wont be on it until Tuesday or Wednesday when my brother gets here so we can bleed the brakes.

Got the truck floor in, tool box and the cooler both fit on it :waytogo:

put a mount of sorts on the filler neck so it is not moving around

Have to mount or find a place to mount the four 30 cal. ammo cans that I have.

Finish painting the rest of the tube, mount the seat, and mount my rear dome light. Change the oil.

Other then that, should be good to go.

I'm on vacation...I'll bring my brake bleeder down and YOU can bleed the brakes...while I sit in my chair, sipping a cool beverage in the shade.

Some people work on vacation, wait until you see what we get to do Wednesday.
