Blazurban or Sublazer

Id rather start over on an uncut burb than dive into something like that. Can of worms for sure.

I wanna do this to my ‘78. But leave the Blazer top off and put a Four Wheel camper setup on it like the Chalet, even tho the Chalet is a Chinook. Have the pop up camper with access to the cab and seating for 3 or 4. Found a ‘77 Blazer basketcase for cheap with a decent tub. Might be a good donor for the bed rails and roof.

I don't think a Chalet on the back of the Suburban would be good, since it doubles up the rear overhang. Think if you could get the cabover to extend over the windshield of a 'Burb, with the rear doors in place to preserve the 2nd row seating (they still fold down for camping, of course). That would be a lot more space than a Blazer 4WD camper, but would likely be a custom unit.

Then again, if you're all camping in there, do you really want seats for 6 people?

Same here, just recently gathered everything together.

I wonder if Four Wheel would build one with the opening. All they offer now are complete slide ins. Would seem rather hard to cut a big hole in the front of something that isn’t cheap. Maybe their new M model would work with an actual door on the back instead of the tailgate.

My thinking of the Chalet was more of just how it bolts to the back of the Blazer, not so much the rear overhang. That pic that CaptRon posted is more of what I’m thinking. Flush with the back as much as possible. Utilize one side for a fold down dinette into an extra bed and the other side for cabinets, counter, stove/sink etc etc…

Plus I’m not looking to sit/sleep 6 people, 3 maybe 4 at the most. Grandkids that might accompany us now and then. They are small enough to sleep on the fold down dinette and we would be spending most of our time outside so don’t need anything large to hang out in. If they complain about that then they can just go back to mom and dad.

Capt Ron do you know who built that one?
The general consensus is it's a Photoshop deal. After measuring the 90 Suburban I just bought and one of my FWC campers it does appear to be a viable setup.

After camping in my K5 Crawlabago I can attest to the kinda tight quarters.
Me and one other person and it's cozy, throw a dog or another person in the mix and things are a bit too tight. Hence the idea to modify a Suburban.

Ahh. Yeah photoshopped was a thought. Roominess was my reasoning for thinking about doing this as well. Since it will mainly be my wife and I it should be plenty. For family excursions our kids are old enough and have their own setups. Plus I have the 78 just sitting there crying to be used for something.
