"Bolt-on" Single cab conversion

mine? or the new one? mine is in pretty bad shape, and the guy with the new one is in washington. close to me. but i dont know how much it would cost to ship somthing like that and not worry about damage.

I still have mine and plan on making the bottom portion. Thanks for th pics! That makes it look easy to duplicate; the bottom that is.

DK5, make me an offer.

here is the one i picked up for DK5. its pretty much new. has some minor scratches from storage and stuff. its never been painted so it has a little surface rust.

Does it seal against the floorboards and the inside of the body or is it not expected to?

Gotcha.

Just wondering aloud really. I have several HMMWV's at work that were coverted from open top to 4 doors and their panel seals (if there are any) leak like a SOB. Don't set anything on the trans hump or they'll get wet for sure in these things.

That bottom part looks fairly easy to fab.

Can you do a step by step install and maybe take some measurements of every piece, as I need to make the lower piece.

I am going to make one for the Blazer and my Suburban.

Thanks!

What happened to the group buy on this? I would be willing to buy some extras and sell them to members. I know I could use one.

Found this for the 1st gens. Emailed the guy. He said there is only one left. Price is $1450 .

No they stopped making them.

The guy that I was going to hook-up with here in Texas dropped off the face of the earth. (fiberglass)

I also need a local guy to let me borrow his Blazer sans the top, so I can fab up the bottom part that is missing.

I have a local machine shop VERY close if need be, but from what I have seen, I can build these in my garage with the tools that I have.

They sold for $800 new, but if I can make them for a amount then, I will try to keep the price down.

I am still very interested in making these, but I need a local glass guy and a local truck to borrow for a few months(at the most) to make the lower portion.:waytogo::D

Edit:

For now, I have 9 people that want one (as far as I could tell)

Anyone want to get in on this, or back out? I'm not placing an order tomorrow or anything, and we'll have to figure out how to do this. Separate orders, but I think we could get the group discount if we all committed to buying at the same time.

This is actually the group order I was wondering about. Is this guy still in business. Sounded like he was ready to go to it and set-up to do so. Did people do this? I would be willing to organize another group buy if we can still get them built and there is enough interest.
