Ahhh gimme gimme. That'd make my life so much easier. I'm still debating my conversion idea. But like the other said, needs to be deeper/thicker. Need me one of those.

I have three of the fiberglass inserts. New, never used. I would be willing to sell two of them.

Hmmm... I would, if I wasn't trying to break even on my next few projects. Leaning towards sheet metal and , , I'm PM you some questions, might work out instead of buying metal and fabricating.

It couldn't. Look how it's bolted to the half cab.

im betting the top could be modified... hmm.. single cab conversion with removeable window? interesting..

You'd have to cut off the forward part of the factory top where it mounts to the half cab and find a way to seal it to the half cab part.

Can't figure out why though.

kind of like the same reason people lift trucks and take them offroad, they think it's cool

you could take off the upper part if you wanted to and just leave the lower metal part to use the bed like a truck. in that case you could then bolt the top as you normally would.

or if you had another topper laying around, you could cut it and figure a way to seal it (wouldn't have to though) if you wanted to leave the half cab on.

I'm just going to use it the way it is for the winter. Unless I have the need for all the space, then I'll throw the topper back on.

Hey yall. I'm buying an m1009 after I sell my current truck.

I want to do a single cab conversion, but I'm wondering a few questions.

What do yall use to weatherstrip the bottom part?

And about how long is the bed with the conversion?

I'd like to do a bolt on conversion, but I might end up doing it permanently with tack welding and bondo. Anyone know of some bolt on plans?

Anyone out there actually done this with sheet metal? Seems like all I see is fiberglass and plywood.
