buggy build thread.. F-ING TRANSMISSIONS

is that the 10.24 to 1 atlas??

no, I really thought about it, this was a tuff decision, choosing between the stak and atlas, and then choosing the gearing in it. I asked alot of peole I would consider smart apples or in the "know crowd" a 10 to 1 t-case would be too much gearing with the torque of a stock or built v8, I had concerns with the braking ability or winding the motor out real easy.

this case has the 1 to 1, 2to1, 3.xx to 1 and 5.44to1 should work out nice

have you hugged your atlas 4 speed today?

I'll go hug mine later.... :deal:

If you're interested, there is a simple way to reconfigure that planetary shifter to exit forward like the other two cables. You simply weld that triangular adapter plate to the tube spacer and it will give you a forward "pull" instead of a backward pull. Advance Adapters must have designed that part of the solution at 4:30PM on a Friday afternoon. :D

There are pics of the shifter mod in my "Might As Well" Build thread if the descripton doesn't make sense.

Way to pump another few thousand dollars into the American economy.....VERY PATRIOTIC!!

I would guess it's for the increased area to weld on and help disperse the load...

Man i gotta know what the hell you do for a living? Do you rob banks in your spare time or something? let me know haha. And there is nothing like a healthy big block, those make me warm and giggly inside. But the 6.0 i wouldnt hesitate to take either.

The men in the porn industry get paid???

IIRC his work has something to do with setting or putting out fires (maybe both :D)

I own a fire safety company here in AZ,

but in reality the $$ I have dumped is not off par with many other members on here by any means. Until I actually finish this thing its all in vain anyways so...

I do not have a wife, kids, or credit cards but I happily give it all up for the wife and kids part.

more updates.

Made my motor mount adapter plates, found a templet online and it was useful. Once the motor was located and bolted in I cut off my old tabs and mount for the t-case adapter. Made a new plate, and added some gussets to the side so if I ever sheer/loose the mounting bolts it does not have too much side to side movement. Probably not needed but it was a nice way to beef it up. When im all done these will get powder coated along with a slew of other brackets.

Breane also came by to harass me a bit and she got to learn how to operate a cherry picker while my fingers were put at risk.. Thankfully is all went smooth:crazy:

Cut a hole in the fire wall, plan is to order a factory gm grommet to get the computer wiring and plugs through. Also my exhaust manifold studs are going to make some surgery needed and creativity.

dropped the fuel tank down so I can later add a shelf behind the seats.

the amo cans will slide in a slot and then be clamped down

the tray behind the amo cans will hold my spare drivelines in pvc pipe

the tray above the driveshafts will hold my battery, cooler and open space
