buggy build thread.. F-ING TRANSMISSIONS

I had forgotten all about this build, good to see it moving ahead.
Just curious, what's a low mile 6.0 running price wise in your area?

I scored this one for 500.00,

The power steering pump was busted as the truck was hit on the drivers side as was the bracket. For me thats on since I am not using a hydro boost pump and I already have the bracket on the current 4.8. I have a seen complete 50-100k mile units averaging 1000-1500 and some low mile units between 1200-2500. The funny thing is is when you need something it can be hard to get, last time i looked I could not find one for a fair price, then I find a couple from the same guy for 500.00 each and both from wrecked 07s:confused:

500 is a smoking deal, I keep batting around the idea of doing a 6.0 instead of the BB I have for my K5, but everytime I look for one they are always pulling premium money.
The 6.0's have really impressed me, power wise and durability/realibility wise. My father has a 03 2500 with a 6.0, it just rolled past 280k and runs like it was new and his business partner has a 02 2500 hd 2wd with 210k and it runs great as well.
The only things we have had fail are the water pumps and fuel pumps on them both.

Back on subject now, can't wait to see that buggy done :waytogo:

Today took the day off to get it all set up, parts swapped and on the engine stand yada yada

The 06 work truck was squatting a bit witht he 4.8, the 6.0 and work crap in the back:D

The real neat part is all three of the vehicles I own will now have the same motor.:pimp:

Now i cant wait to get it in the buggy so I can go beat on it and jump it again..

Are you running a 4l60e tranny? I feel so bad for it if thats the case.

Good luck on the install, with the way you work 2 hours tops until its flying in the air!

I think a 4L60 behind a 6.0L is better than the TH700(same **** basiclly, just no computer)behind Steve Watson's big block buggy.

ran into a small snag..got it bolted in, motor mounts, trans bolts, manifolds.. then it hit me like a train.

Um.. i never put in the crank spacer between the flexplate off the 4.8 to the 6.0 :doah:

so all comes back apart, out again, then it fought like hell the second go round. And now.. at 1:30 all thats left is the radiator, lines and I need to retape and loom the harness. So now im getting tired and Ill just put from here till sun up.

Much better to catch it now than after fragging something.

Eagerly awaiting the smoky burnout video...

yah, wheres the burnout videos already?

:D

nothing too impressive as it kept going for my house. The tires are bias ply and the left rear has little to no air so the bouncing got my attention quick!

Ill air her up and get some vids in the day light and away from my house!
