Building Blazer still

Makes me even more satisfied to have the Wife's Power Wagon in the shop for some serious cage work, in preparation for our 2013 wheeling plans, including BB13.

Sheet metal can be replaced but no one wants to have a loved one get hurt, especially while out "enjoying" our chosen hobby...

Thanks GUY'S:waytogo: It should be strong enough so as long as everyone inside is Harnessed in they will not get hurt! THUMPER should survive also! The Glass & Sheet metal will never be the same but the cage will hold everything together since it is attached to the frame in 12 places! Kind of like a real HEAVY HEAVY Buggy with sheet metal.
People ask me why I just didn't build a buggy?:dunno: I tell them the K5 is way cooler and how many Blazer do you see built like this out there? I have always loved the K5 so now I have both worlds. I know it will never be able to do what a buggy can but thats ok. I had kids walk by some extremly Badass Buggies to look at THUMPER and take a picture! Now that is cool to me and my 8 year old boy loves it!:D I am fortunate enough to make my dream 4X4 come to life. Thank you guy's for all the respones and I hope you are enjoing the build! I most defiantly will be at Blazer Bash 2013!:thumb:

don't forget the big blowout at BB14!!! Be there!

I plan on being there!:waytogo:
Building a new guage pod for the Compressor, Tranny Temp & ARB's. Putting the GPS where they used to be. Installing some light switches for the Rock Lights and stuff.

Your the first person I have seen to have the elite 5m. What are the base maps like on it. Is the topo info detailed? My LEI software for the Baja is no longer supported. Have been looking for something new.

LCD for rear & passenger cameras. It will not be that bright when the cameras are hooked up!

I tried a reverse camera in the Sonoma and found it to be a novelty and not overly used so took it out. I prefer to drive by Braille and just hit stuff though.

I hear ya Norby. I drive mine on the street and when there is not a passenger to look for me I can not see if I am going to run someone over when changing lanes. Now I don't need to worry about mirrors that I keep breaking off.:D Lol Plus more stuff to go wrong. The camera will show a rear view or a passenger view depending on how I have it set and it will be on 24/7 unless I shut it off so I can see all the time behind me. Kind of overkill I know but what the heck!!

I built myself and ssyork some clamp on tube mirror mounts to use a 5-6" convex mirror o. Each side that clamp on with wing nit hose clamps. That was the best thing since they can swing I. When smashing into things and can see the whole rig being convex.

Personally I think the cameras are gonna be cool but yes overkill. Norby your mirrors are cool, I checked them out at BB. Hell I am almost done with the build now so just doing final touches then will get a good paint job!:waytogo:

Wow. I shouldt ck5 at he brewery after reading my last popost. Definately get so e convex mirrors though. They work really well.
