I think you are trying to be the first person to win the Jason Payne Memorial Trophy 2 years in a row....

So maybe that's just me.
I was told you can't win it more than once.![]()
But I guess when it is built right the first time, it is hard to improve on it.So maybe that's just me.

I just quit putting the number on my truck at the BBQ. Figured it was the right thing to do. Give someone else a chance.![]()
I'm just being sarcastic. The build is great. I did mine because I cashed on my KTM and was injured badly. With age you get a cage. I was lucky enough to be working with TT and class 1 SCORE guys. I new what I wanted to build and how to do it. The Jason Payne award kind of blew me away. I was told when I got to Moab, that the Jimmy wouldn't work. By some very knowledgable people. Scared the crap out of me. I actually considered just packing up and going home. Glad I didn't. The next year a couple of trucks showed up linked. I like to think I helped start that.
That dam car wreck changed my life but hell this K5 thing has got me really excited and is consuming me in a great way. I had no idea what I have been missing!
I guess that is why you hear "everything happens for a reason". When I started building mine it was the good ole boy farm style build then I kept meeting people that really know how to build a Rig like ORD, Gem Auto & S&S Metal Works and they put me in the right direction to get the Blazer where it is now! I am loving this stuff now and plan on going to the Rubicon, South Dakota, Moab & Colorado trails this year. Being so far from home I want it done "BUILT" correctly with the best parts to try to elliminate dumb breaks if you know what I mean. I have been really afraid to drive this thing to it's potential because I did not want it to break with the 555. When I get it back from S&S Metal Works THUMPER will be ready to go!
But now I wont have an excuse when my Mangina tightens up!
Cowl looks nice. I had thought about a fabricated hood with a small cowl out of 1" tube frame for the sonoma and I might just do that still for the ibex.
