Building Blazer still

S & S Metal Works is CNC a new Cowl for the hood instead of the bolt on fiberglass Cowl I have now. Gonna be sweet welded to the hood instead of two pieces.:waytogo: The bottom Pic is when I built the hood with the bolt on Cowl.

I think you are trying to be the first person to win the Jason Payne Memorial Trophy 2 years in a row....

I believe if that happens that would be the "CHERRY ON TOP" of this build I have going on! It definately would mean a lot coming from the great community of CK5!:saweet:

I was told you can't win it more than once.

But I guess when it is built right the first time, it is hard to improve on it. So maybe that's just me.

J/K:haha:

I hear ya and thats ok! I do agree that my build was not done completly right the first time but it is getting done right now & it is getting completed! I have been building this thing for over 8 years & I think it will have everything I dreamed of on it now.:eek1:
Here is a picture of the underside of the new Cowl S&S Metal Works is building for it.
"HANG ON" Lol:haha:Looks great!

I think that's the CK5 truck of the month you might be thinking of. I don't remember anything official being said about the trophy being 1 time only. I think ultimately the only way we could prevent it would be to throw out votes because with new people each year it would be hard to keep people from voting for a previous winner.

I just quit putting the number on my truck at the BBQ. Figured it was the right thing to do. Give someone else a chance.:D

I am just building my dream Rig here and I took what mrk5 said about the Jason Payne Memorial Trophy as a complement. The fact is the shop I had helping me build the Blazer did not do things correctly & neither did I so the Rig is not the same Rig as 2012, a lot of changes. I was not doing this for a trophy I am doing this because I want too & have the ability too. Finding out that my family & myself could have been hurt very seriously because the cage was not complete scared me. Evertime I took the rig out something was breaking and that is why I am having experts finish the build for me. I do not want to offend anyone by this build but people that know me understand the situation I am in and completely understand the build. I used to be very athletic and ride dirt bikes but a car accident stopped all of this! This is what I am into now and I love it! When I go to BB this year if people agree with you then cool, you guys can decide not me. I am just doing what I enjoy.

I'm just being sarcastic. The build is great. I did mine because I cashed on my KTM and was injured badly. With age you get a cage. I was lucky enough to be working with TT and class 1 SCORE guys. I new what I wanted to build and how to do it. The Jason Payne award kind of blew me away. I was told when I got to Moab, that the Jimmy wouldn't work. By some very knowledgable people. Scared the crap out of me. I actually considered just packing up and going home. Glad I didn't. The next year a couple of trucks showed up linked. I like to think I helped start that.

Heck ya I know you did! last year was the first year I made it to BB and the award was cool! I saw yours linked in pictures and said thats what I am doing!:waytogo: That dam car wreck changed my life but hell this K5 thing has got me really excited and is consuming me in a great way. I had no idea what I have been missing!:D I guess that is why you hear "everything happens for a reason". When I started building mine it was the good ole boy farm style build then I kept meeting people that really know how to build a Rig like ORD, Gem Auto & S&S Metal Works and they put me in the right direction to get the Blazer where it is now! I am loving this stuff now and plan on going to the Rubicon, South Dakota, Moab & Colorado trails this year. Being so far from home I want it done "BUILT" correctly with the best parts to try to elliminate dumb breaks if you know what I mean. I have been really afraid to drive this thing to it's potential because I did not want it to break with the 555. When I get it back from S&S Metal Works THUMPER will be ready to go! But now I wont have an excuse when my Mangina tightens up!:haha:

Great attitude to have Raiderblaze!!!

Amazing Machine!!!
Look forward to being able to check it out in person!

Cowl looks nice. I had thought about a fabricated hood with a small cowl out of 1" tube frame for the sonoma and I might just do that still for the ibex.

Heck ya, you should do it. One of a kind hood! If you have access to a CNC you can do anything! S&S is killing mine, I am loving it!:D

Norby, you have a build thread yet? Wife asked if you were related to the Norby's that lived in Pinedale Wyoming years ago. Pat, the mom Mike & Cory son's. I believe Mike lives by Torrington now.:dunno:

Here is the CK5 build of my new one: http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=302342

I don't know any Norby's in Torrignton but not unlikely, Grandfather came over from Norway and my dad was the youngest of the 8 kids so I have many cousins and such that I have never met. My half brother is Mike and lives in California though, his mothers name is Pat.

Told ya you was gonna win :waytogo:
