It is so worth towing it down there if you can do it. Even if you rent something and borrow a trailer. It is tons more fun because you can beat it more and if it breaks you just got to get it to the trailer or the trailer to it. So many less worries.

The one year I rented a truck it cost me $400 for the week. It was a 4 dr one ton diesel, spoiled me to death though.

For the last one 10 years I have always driven my rig to and from Moab but with nightmare I know it's history and with a fresh engine and trans I knew if I didn't go to crazy i would be fine. With pb I have no idea if it's going to randomly explode despite how nice it may be running. Once I go through PB I'll feel better about just driving it down there. I will look into tow options I just need to find a place to stick it.

You pay my gas and I can bring my trailer down. The weight distribution hitch would need some major adjustment, but it would give you the best idea if towing PB with Nightmare would work.

If you got a trailer I imagine your setup would be very close to my trailer

If you are coming down we are building a cage and boatsiding ;) I won't let those skills drive that far for a trailer check;)

@6872xtc I sent you a PM regarding a performance water pump you mentioned... better do a little more on my cooling system before summer hits and I feel rushed and I cut my fingers off.... again.....

With the specs of my build I think I'm a little past what the stock heavy duty pump wants to handle.
I did a lot of research this winter and it sounds like the high flow will up the pressure and keep the block from holding heat,

Sounds like it will help at low speeds and high rpm.

What has lead you to this conclusion? I've only ran a higher end pump on a high rpm engine to avoid cavitation or I wanted an electric pump to free up HP loss. Of course you can start splitting hairs with impeller design and machined VS stamped but you're falling deep into the MAW hole IMO.

I just don't want any cooling issues. So far it has worked fine. I also put a bigger radiator in. We'll be towing a midsized camper with it as well.

Did you have ANY cooling issues before or was this strictly preemptive measure you took?

That's all pretty basic cooling theory coming from someone who sells water pumps.
LOL I agree! however this is one of a ton of articles i found.
Plus i went on summit and read a ton of reviews from guys switching to high performance pumps saying their BBC ran 20 degrees cooler...

Mine still runs much warmer than I like. when i start seeing 218-220+ i start to stress. If i could get it to 200 peaking at 210 i would be a happy camper :)
