Built these custom seat brackets.

I just gotta say these brackets are sweet! I was looking at seat swap options years ago when I made my blazer into a 6 seater and the only thing that remotely offered backseat access like the flip forward seat was the '88-'98 extended cab split bench from what I found. This base you are building should make it to where more seats from newer trucks can be adapted to your base and still give good rear seat access. As long as they don't hit the windshield but I'm think most newer seats are shorter than oem blazer high back buckets.

It will be able to accommodate the TMI and SmittyBuilt Jeep Seats for sure. Going to make add on brackets for the stock seats as well. Appreciate it! Yeah, seeing the market of seat brackets available you either don’t get the action people want or you’re barely bolted to the floor.

Just food for thought but I wonder what it would take to maybe add to your brackets or something for those running a newer style chevy center console/jump seat. I'm not sure if they happen to all bolt down the same. I'm running a work truck style jump seat that doesn't fold down and it mounted pretty easy but I did have to drill 4 holes in my floor and used 3/8" bolts and fender washers and it fit around my stock seat brackets fine. On your brackets you could maybe just add some tabs with studs so the newer style jump seat/console could just bolt to them. Maybe as an option for anyone wanting to run that setup.

When I have the funds I’ll pick up a nice horizontal band saw so the cuts will be mitered instead of boxed. I just can’t make reliable 45° Cuts right now.

I made a tilt seat in my K5 like that and it never needed lubrication. Maybe if you lived back east with higher humidity, it might be more of an issue.

Love that table, crazy how much a solid workspace is overlooked when shopping for tools. I always see "Welding tables" and cringe at how expensive they are so I think its cool that you just made your own instead!

So, this bolts to the floor and the stock seat or aftermarket seat will bolt to the bracket? Does it make the front seats higher up?

Thanks, yeah I couldn’t justify the cost for a thin table. I would be worried all the time about beating it with a sledge.

Yes, the passenger side will need to be drilled for the rear mount. All other holes will line up. This one is specific to 81-85.

I built these to stock height specs.

It will be a little tricky to get stock seats to mount up. Will have to use new tracks and brackets that bolt to the stock seat bracket locations that allow you to thread a bolt through new seat tracks and mount to the stock seat bracket.

Ok, so maybe roundeye years down the road?

The only difference is in the two mounting plates. The hole spacing for the earlier trucks are 3 3/4” on driver side if I remember correctly. On 81-85 (mine) they are 4” on center driver side. When I make up the passenger side I’ll note those measurements down as well. Really wish I would have wrote down those measurements. I’ll probably call the guy I built those brackets for and ask him if I can take some off his truck. I could just plasma slots into the mounting brackets but that doesn’t seem as secure as having properly drilled holes to me.

The earlier trucks had 2 seat hole bolts per side on driver rear and 81-85 only had a single hole. Im not sure of 85+ because I haven't worked on one.

Sweet brackets!
Could a lever be mounted to actuate the locks ?
Wondering if a rod parallel to the handle and a little above, with an arm to actuate handle and a rotating lever mounted on the side would allow use from both front and back while not having to reach past anything stored under the seat.
Nice fab work and a well-thought out design.
