Burnt burb resurrection (It's mine again!)

I've driven past hobby lobby (only fabric store left near here) about 20 times since this project started and not once have I even stopped. look at it every time and tell the girly we need to stop..... but never do:doah:

I gotta figure out what to do for vents to keep the hot air from pointing right at my leg:dunno: Gonna have to be creative there

guessed:rolleyes: It was only 6 bucks so I dont mind much. but the fabric store is 45 min away so getting a different one will be awhile:doah: there was one that would have looked better i think. but didnt seem right in store. I may take an armrest cover off to check it against:dunno:

Do it once I and right I say.

Otherwise you will go ugh... Every time you get in the burb lol

im gonna get one more yard of a different color them choose between them. I gotta get something to do my headliner too:doah: I let my kid drive it and his friends and him didnt know you CANT touch the headliner:rolleyes: its coming down above both front doors now

Rick what about a contrasting color, say something to match the dash?

I'm looking at that option now dave:waytogo: I took my carpet dash pad in to do a color comparison. I now have 4 different colors to choose from:rolleyes: I'm gonna do final selection and cover it tomorrow. I also got a few pieces of aspen for the top today and some stain to see if I can come close to matching the dash:doah: Not looking forward to that process:dunno: I may just stain the center the way I want and have a buddy of mine remake the wood stuff already in it in aspen to match. we'll see how it goes for now

I did one side today:D looks good. But then I realized that i forgot to reverse my pattern and cut both pieces of materialthe same:doah:

Now I have to go get MORE vinyl:haha: luckily they have plenty more there:whistle:

Rick how are you attaching it to the floor?

I have the black board on the floor that I fastend down first. it'll be fastened to that.

Im puting screws through the back into the base board and in the front in the circled area. I'll put 1x1 blocks where the red is to take the weight of any one leaning on it and stiffen it side to side a little,

edit ... oops forgot to add the pic

yup, it was definately not blue in the pic you sent me haha.

I can see it now :thumb:

How tall is the lid going to be? My main complaint about the factory console and the OEM seat arm rests is that they are way too low to be of any use. I love my "Conversion" console in my 1988 V10 Suburban.
