after thinking about it for a while I figured selling the 5.3 isn't solving anything. so ill keep it and ill have to do this differently. looks like im going to have to read the threads about modifying the harness real well because that will save me money by dong it myself. and little things like modding the exhaust and such I can handle easy. ill have to get the motor mounts and any other small adapters, etc. piece by piece.
You have to at least get the anti-theft stuff turned off in the ecm for it to even fire. Also if you don't have cats or rear O2 sensors then you need to turn those off. The tranny tuning with have to be modified for a 700r4. Also if you're running electric fans you can use the ecm to control them. Besides you can tune the engine as well to get a few more ponies out of it too

I'm definitely putting my 5.3 on craigslist.... I'm not in a position to do it and may not be for a LONG time.... on top of my taxes to pay I have to cover about $4k out of my pocket for my surgery
this thing is my play toy and I have the CC for a DD so the money out of the 5.3 will go towards hopping this up a little with a cam, intake, vortec heads, and a Qjet. way more doable at the moment and My plans for this burb include an 8.1 in the future anyway so why mod for the 5.3 just to tear it out later.
