Burnt burb resurrection (It's mine again!)

ill sell the CC first:waytogo: the burb may be looked at as a toy at the moment but id sell every other vehicle I have first. Ill have to call them and ask about payments. H&R told me they don't do payments and would want it all up front. If they gave me a while that could help a lot.

They don't give it you have to ask for it.

spent the last while looking over the stuff on IRS .gov and I think ill get a loan for it.... I don't trust them and theres issues with getting it approved too. I'll just go the fast route and next years return should make a huge dent in the remaining loan balance when it comes around. if not pay it off. All OT will be going to it also. Ill end up paying nearly no interest anyway. like I mentioned.... ill let the powers that be decide.... if my 5.3 sells fast ill go the other route... if no one seems to want it while I save what little I can ill put it in

You are just another one that gives the IRS more than what they should get and pay more to the bank at the same time.
You roll over too quick.
Just call and talk to someone there and explain that you were misinformed and you never intended to cheat them out of it but now you don't have the money so what can they do to help you make it right.
They will ask how much you can pay per month and they might offer to wave the penalties and the interestand even if you have to pay interest it's not more than what you would pay the bank and you have no collateral.

im going to call them... but what im paying IS the penalties... I actually paid more than enough taxes and would have gotten a $1700 return plus a state return, but the penalties were $6300 federal alone. then I had to pay state penalties too. that's what brings it up to $5300 that I owe.

Didn't you just buy wheels for your new truck? Why did you do that?

I figured up my taxes myself and thought I was getting between $1500-$2000 back (actually was gonna be $1700), so I put them on my credit card before I had my taxes done... then I had them done and found out I had been misinformed by my 401k company and had to still pay huge penalties... BAM.. I owe $5300:doah: then a week later I find out I have to have hernia surgery for what I thought was pulled muscles:confused: $2400 deductible + 10% = between $3500 and $4500 at least from my pocket:eek1:

im trying not to seesaw back and forth here because everyone will see my thread and just pass by it:rolleyes: ive made a bunch of bad decisions in the past but I actually had LESS to live on every month after bills the entire time ive been on this site than I do now. But im still on a pretty limited budget. a few hundred dollars is huge for me to spend on things for my truck. that's why all my threads are slow... I get times where bills come all together and I work OT and pay em then a check can go to me, that's how ive funded most of this stuff.

I know you guys are busting my b@ll's in fun and trying to steer good decisions:waytogo: Ive never had a bad vibe on this site yet.

One of these days ill make a bunch more money than I do now and and owe half as much and be able to put a grand a month into all my projects. but not right now...

But if a man works all the time and only pays bills and debt and never buys something they want for themselves, even if they have little money then whats the point in the daily grind. Im an industrial electrician in a chemical plant, I May not have tomorrow to spend that little bit on me. My bills get paid and my kid eats, and occasionally I get a little for me. so I use in while I can:thumb:

Sometimes its easier to just pay the IRS than to argue with them. Iv seen it get nasty with some people, and the IRS just tacks on more fees to punish them. Its an unfair system, and basically a criminal enterprise. The FED never destroyed the mob, they just took over their operations and renamed them.

Why borrow money to make a running truck into a non running truck???

Martin

itll be down no longer than a week either way I go. I know I have a head gasket bad on the one it has now but its minor so far.. I have foam in the cap when I pull it to add oil and im losing anti freeze slowly with no visible drips outside of the motor. even parked it in a clean floor garage to check it and 2 hrs of sitting nothing... gotta be a gasket.. so im either pulling the motor for the 5.3 I have. or pulling the heads and if im keeping the block I got and pulling heads I might as well go ahead and do votecs and a cam while im there.

(Why borrow money to make a running truck into a non running truck???)

Im getting the loan regaurdless. I HAVE TO. so if I added $500 to the loan to put the better motor in that I already have what is it hurting...:dunno:

ill do the 5.3 if it hasn't sold by the time I do the loan. Im not going below $800 for it so it may not sell fast. Im doing the loan at the end of march. I have to talk to the IRS first but im sure im going to end up payin the whole thing so......

I wouldn't plan anything out until you talked to the IRS and see how they're willing to work with you.

I hope they can deal with me on what I owe total. but im still not doing payments through them. I'd rather go through my CU for that. interest or not.. Im hoping the IRS will settle lower with me if I make a full payment.

Things like engine swaps always have hidden expenses. It's not really the kind of thing you do on the hairy edge of a budget. You might get really lucky, but chances are some unseen things will pop up. It may also be down longer than you think.

im not even gonna pull it into the shop till I have all pieces in hand and the wiring harness done, pcm flashed, all that. im hoping for a weekend but 2 weeks is max.. it would have to be done in that time frame what ever it takes. even if I have to limp it back to my house it has to be drivable by then.

Oh the same thing happened to me when I cashed my ESOP.
They told me they have to deduct the penalties and taxes. I needed every penny because I had lost my job. They sent me a check for the full amount.
But I had enough deduction that I didn't owe any taxes.
Still call and see what deal they will give you and tell them you cashed it and suffered the penalties because you needed the money and now you don't have any left.
If they can put you on $100 /month or close to it and see what they say.
Plus you still don't have to pay till April 15.
You can make some money till then.
At first I thought this was from last year and you made a mistake. You are panicking too early.

went to the IRS office today and was told basically to pay it and be done. they said I can make payments if I want but its 3% compounded daily after april 15th and if I want to try to lower it I have to do a mini audit deal where I have to provide receipts for all bills and payments made and all check stubs for the last 3 months. getting all that would be nearly impossible. then I have to wait till they decide and pay any penalties and interest that has incurred since they wont be done by tax day. and with what I make they probably wont lower it anyway.

Im just waiting till april 7th, getting the loan and paying it in person at their office. if im payin interest to anyone it sure as F#%$ wont be to them. I don't care if its twice the rate... :flipoff1: the gubment

well I did manage to get my steering arm on finally, and rotated my tires for the first time ever on one of my vehicles:rolleyes:
