Burnt burb resurrection (It's mine again!)

Well I got the springs out, and I have to say it went well. the bolts are reuseable:waytogo: The pic of 2 bolts is the first spring on the rear I took apart. I cant figure out how to label each pic so I'll tell everything here. I had to cut 1 rear U bolt to test my new die grinder and the rest came apart with a breaker bar and 1/2" impact. I found 2 basic rust holes that should be simple. I dont know if I'll get them fixed now or not:confused:. Took more under body pics though:thumb:

I got the front off too but camera died. I'm going to start cleaning up the frame in general and prime and paint what I can.

i've never seen any suspention bolts come out in one piece... thats a clean burb

Wow, your lucky Shady....presoak helped some I'm sure, but those bolts even look rust free on the shank portions.
looking good man!

I'm just waiting for the fall. I don't find deals like this usually. I had three close calls with stupid drivers in the same day while driving it already. I cant think of the last time I had a close one before. I'm happy as h3ll though, and I'm crossing my fingers that it lasts. :waytogo:

Looking good so far shady!

I know I will get grilled for this but I like the way your truck looks with as it is ground effects and all. You don't see many of those at all and none in as good of shape as yours. Someone obviously took good care of that truck. The color combo looks good too, not as dated as say a red and black combo would look on the road today.

Where in Iowa are you?

I'm in clinton, as far east as you can go. Thanks also, it is a good looking truck. I'm growing on the paint combo. I wanted to paint it later on, but I'm not sure anymore. I got some ideas for the runners that'll make em look better and clear the tires. If I decide to get rid of them, I'm going to keep the wheel opening portions as flares so I dont throw stuff at the body.

Few more pics of yesterdays progress.

It is what you make it Shady....its your truck in the end, but wow thats a lot of striping going on there.:eek1:

:waytogo::D

My original plan was all black with some paint tricks that I thought of and picked up along the way. I wont go into them till I know if I'm doing it. But there is a lot of black rigs around, and my kids 72 will be black so I dont want him thinkin I'm copying him. Cant be like your parents when your a teenager:doah: I have a few other things thought of but its future stuff. I wont be able to paint it for a long while either way:dunno:

You know what man, its just paint, it can always be painted back, If you were to really hate it or what not. (Just a matter of it being financially feasable lol).

Oh and GET THAT LIFT ON!!! haha, I want some PICS!!!!! :woot:

Alcan told me it'd be the 24th or 25th that they'd probably ship out. Also said around 4 days for shipping. So hopefully soon. I do have some work to do that I didnt expect. The drivers side wheel well looks pretty good and has some surface rust, so I touched it and found out it is crinkley. The paint in there will flake off so I'm just gonna go to work sanding and wire wheeling. I got some of that infamous zinc primer:D and satin black to do all my wheel wells and what ever I can get to of the frame till the springs come.

I also like your ground effects!

Not on a stock truck at all I think they are hideous on a stocker but I have seen them on a lifted truck and I liked them alot.

Looking forward to pics:D

Cool man do it all now, cuz god knows when you say ahh ill get that later, its never later, its way later, and most likely never till its too late.
