It'd be a lot easier to trailer a 4runner or zuk with my burb too. I'm contemplating parting the 1 ton out and just buying a cheap already beefed up little play toy. Ive seen them around for not much. and around here its all mud roads anyway. I could have my dually on a set of h1's and 37 hummers with 4"s of lift for about $1000 though. It'd be alittle long but would probably do fine till I could afford to get better tires and shorten it 
I may try to sell the dually outright also. All i really need for a 4x till I move in 3-6 years is something to cruise the level B roads ahead of my kid with so I can pull him out

I like this Idea the best lol. I like the 1 ton but I think you could make alot more money off of it than what you paid, idk though. If your not gonna use all those beefy parts it has, then may as well get something smaller for what you have in your area.
I got the first phase of the stereo install done. I wanted to match the wood panels so I made a hard wood mount. But I couldnt figure out what kind of wood the dash was or the kind of stain. So I went satin black polyurethane for now. Next up for the stereo is new speakers, then on to an amp and sub(s).
Take a look at my build thread, but i was able to fit a small mono block alpine sub amp BEHIND my stock spare tire.

Do you have any problems with theft in your area? Man I know alot of people with decks that have gotten snagged. My ex girlfriend stayed at my house one time and when I left for work in the morning I noticed her window was down, so i got out and it was busted. THey took her GPS, Deck, and she had forgotten to grab her wallet out of the glove comp and they somehow guessed her debit card # and took $500 out of the ATM at 3am on like a wed morning. It was a bad day and I was ready to find the mofo and run him over, but he covered up his face with a mask at the ATM. I ended up finding a new window that day and putting it in, and the bank refunded her. But im guessing some creep watched her use her card at the gas station and followed her to my house. Ive never had problems cuz I buy decks that look lame, just for that purpose lol.
Just saying if it were me I would have used like some torx bit scews to hold that deck in, but you prolly dont live in the hood lol.

If someone is going to steal a $200 deck, i'm going to let them. Id rather they are able to remove it w/o trashing everything surrounding it when they realize you used torx screws....
I used to have some thieves living next door. They got a couple off of me before I figured out who and confronted them. They left my stuff alone after that, then moved a short time later. I havent had an issue in years though. In my town the thieves are'nt smart enough to bring tools, but I am actually looking at stainless torx ones for the whole dash, stop reading my mind
. I have a buddy that does wood work alot. I'm going to have him recreate my dash stuff in a different wood (not sure what yet), then I'm going to build a sub box/center console and some door panel+rear panel accents out of the same stuff. All stereo stuff will be hidden and secured at that time exept the deck. It may end up in the center console too. I'll see when it comes time to build.
I also have all the stuff cut and ready for assembly on my sway bar corrections. I'm going to bolt them in, tack em up and remove for final weld like I did on daves frame ties. their not going to be real pretty but they'll work good.

The 87 burb I had got the whole friggin dash destroyed when they took that deck. I dont lock my doors any more either. If they want it I'd rather not have to fix a window on top of replace my crap. I actually left a note on my dash for a while that said.. "If you are planning to steal my new deck, Please knock on my door. I will help you so you dont F$#k my dash up this time." I was just waiting for a knock from some drunk a$$ in the middle of the night
I looked at hickory, I know that I want a medium brown or so finished look. I'm just not sure on the grain pattern I want.
I got my sway bar hooked back up. MAN what a differance. Pics to come but they're nothing to brag about. I was in a hurry so I just threw them together and in. I have to pull them out again so I'll clean em up then. I had to use a LONG bolt that needs replaced also. I happened to leave one of the ones I needed on the frame when I ran for more beer. Its gone

From the pictures it looks like your dash is maple.
when I looked at the wood I took the center console out and sanded the back. It looked darker than the front some how. But I forgot that it will darken when unprotected. It may be maple. I still may end up breaking the dash pieces when I sand them. we'll see what happens
To me it looks like a red oak, to grainy and dark to be maple, thats more of a solid whitish color.
