Burnt burb resurrection (It's mine again!)

Sorry for the slow reply - Nancy

And the trucks looking good. Where the flexing pictures with the sway connected?
yeah the poser pics were the day after I got the sway bar hooked up.

Well a fellow CK5er has finally seen the burb in person. I just got back from a ride around town with 76zimmer. He said he came down to look at my 1 ton, but I know better. It was the burb :haha:. So far I'm happy as can be with the outcome and the alcans. I have some small future plans, but shes pretty much done as is. Time to move on to my kids truck. Thanks for following to this point and I hope to have progress to show on my kids 72 soon. :thumb:

I'm not ending it, It's just that it may be so far between posts that you guys will quit following it or unsubscribe:rolleyes:. Theres way toomany awesome continuing builds on here to keep tabs on my DD. Future plans involve the rest of stereo install, spare tire mount, tool box molded into the old spare well, exhaust, and small cleanup items. They all sound like small projects but they'll be so far between that we're talkin a few years. I have till this fall to get my boys 72 running and get the cage in it. Preferably painted and interior paneled also. We'll see if I get anything else done.

Well it was clean and pretty till dave came along:rolleyes: Its not bad but it is muddy now:whistle: I did some minor 4xing. but no pics:doah:

I made the radio mount out of red oak. but i tried 3 different colors and clear poly and couldnt come close to the dash:dunno: I might try some white oak and see what happens. I think the finished product will be walnut with a clear polly on it. Or maybe something light with a dark stain instead. I'll have to see what the wood worker I know wants to work with also.

DUDE, you know what would be cool. I made a snowboard bench in high school out of these 2 crazy woods. One is called purple heart and it is literally a dark purple wood, no stain. And the other is called peduka, it is a burnt orange. I will take a picture of it next time Im at my dads, the peduka would look soooooo cool!!!!

:sign6:

The coolest part about finding it and getting it was I was just trying to sell some 4wheelers and this guy offered me the burb as partial trade. I said no but I liked it, then didnt hear from him for a month. One night out of the blue the dude emails me and says he just put it on craigslist for $500 and wanted to give me a heads up. I drove out that night at 10:30pm and looked at it. Bought it the next day. HE WAS GONNA SCRAP IT! But couldnt figure out how to get it there. I'm glad he didnt know you can have them picked up. I was intended to have this by a higher power clearly:rolleyes::haha:

I gotta say I was not a fan of the running boards at all when Rick first started posting about them...but it looks pretty good with the lift and 33's on it. And its at least a decent setup. Many of the conversion vans/trucks are done in Indiana so I see quite a few of them around, and alot of them after 4-5 years, the boards/flares start falling off, because they aren't attached good. Ricks are solid, and match the truck pretty good.
The mud splashed on the paint looks good too Rick, thanks for the tour of everything yesterday.
Oh and renting the car saved me $50 and I got to drive something new for a change.

you wanted more mud and I couldnt help my self:whistle: Now I gotta climb under it with a hose:doah:. I hope you guys are happy:flipoff10:
