Burnt burb resurrection (It's mine again!)

that belt hasnt squealed before this either:dunno: Ive never revved it up with out a load though.. I checked both belts and they seem tight. Oh well it doesnt make any noise when I'm driving so scrww it. I'm gonna get a drive by vid soon. that muffler was only $40 too

Cool man, I think im gonna order all my parts from summit tomorrow, its about a $450 wishlist:whistle: ugh what have I gotten myself into lol

Its called the snowball. It sucks up a lot of green while rolling too. :D

Yah until funds increase though im def puttin an end to the snowball for a bit lol. This engine is driving me crazy lol. Theirs so much more to doing it right than just getting it and droppin it in lol. I look at rigs like ryokens where he blasts and paints every single piece on the truck and I think wow, im just doing the engine bay up nice, how the **** does he not go crazy lol. My brain just hurts from thinking of all the little things I need to do lol, I think ill spend my time at work tomorrow thinkin of everything and write it all down so I dont have to think about it anymore lol

I just redirected the snowball, now its gonna be rolling on my kids truck. the sooner I get his done the sooner I can get back to mine:rolleyes:

Yah, im also lookin at gettin a quad from my cousin, but if he wont go down in price to where I want it im not doiing it, I need to tell myself that lol

Sounds tuff, I like it. Nice upgrade.

What kind of belts are they? If it's a serpentine, I like the good year gator back, or the new Dayco multi rib(two ribs per groove) are nice too. Gates crack too quick.

However, if it's a V belt, the gates are the best. Don't get the crappy autozone belts, they squeek all the time, and if you have a HP motor with good throttle response you can chuck autozone belts by just rapping the throttle.

The belt brand makes more of a difference than you think.

Mufflers sound good. I love how they sound on my rig, and cant beat the price of 40 bones each.

I got a gates serp. style belt on my 86 and it squeals at startup and if I rev it under no load, I think they need to be tighter than the standard v belt. Didn't squeal till it go broke in and I tightened it down like I do the v-belts, with just a little bit of play.

I can attest to this. Autozone belts suck. I put one on my power steering pump before a wheelin trip and spit it at the first hill climb. I reset it and tightened the hell out of it. It spit 3 more times before I said screw it and cut the belt. I will never buy a belt from them again.

I got the belts new a few months ago when I put the truck together. I didnt pay attention to the brand but they came from O'rilleys. I havent tried tightening anything yet. The power steering V belt is pretty tight. But the flat belt for the alt could be tighter.

does your belt squeak when you turn the wheel when you are parked?

No, it was the alt belt. I took care of it a little while ago. I think the fan pulley could use a little more contact with the belt. But its good now. the belt touches maybe a third or less of the fan pulley.

I got my drop pitman arm finally so more front end work ( tierod ends, drag link, stabilizer??) and all the fluids and filters to come soon. I'm loving this thing more everytime I drive it. I have a 2011 camry that may get sold at a loss just to free up the $500 a month it takes to keep it. It's not like I really drive it anymore:rolleyes:. That money would go a long way towards Under coating, More POWER, custom gauges/dash:whistle:, stereo, A/C, and the list keeps going. I've had it only a short time and it is already my favorite vehicle (out of around 40ish) that I've ever owned.

Just wait My wheel spacers maybe freed up by next weekend :D If you still want them. No suburban yet though.

Cool:waytogo: I guess your getting your 14 bolt in finally. I seen a brand new white burb at work the other day, AWESOME!! It looked totally out of place in our dirty crappy plant. I've driven the burb on the highway a few time now and it does great so far. So I'll bring it when I come visit:D

Sounds good. Hopefully the axles are under it by next weekend and it don't drag out too long.

I did some RPO code checking and found that I have 3:73 gears. and a 40 gallon gas tank. Plus some other mundane crap that all matched. Both of those are things that I was hoping it had. Real soon (saturday:laugh:) I'll be ordering the whole TBI upgrade package with the salad bowl, 1" spacer, 1/4" injector spacer, rebuild kit??, and maybe adjustable regulator. Plus Cap, rotor, wires, plugs, accel ignition controller for inside the dizzy, and an HO coil. Should be just enough to compliment my semi recent exhaust upgrade. It does fine now on the highway but the lock up converter repeatedly disengages. I hope this gives it enough torque to keep my foot a little farther out of it and stop that. Oh yeah I almost forgot, All the fluids are getting changed too finally:waytogo: There will be pics of some of the TBI process.

Later:D
