Burnt burb resurrection (It's mine again!)

Well I built my own salad bowl, out of a salad bowl:D. Its gonna get remodified when I get the tbi spacer though. it hits the hood now:confused: just barely. I had to use fram air filters cause they didnt have 2 of the others. Changed the oil and rear diff lube so far. Tranny fluid coming wednsday. If I was to flush it do I take the top line or bottom off the radiator or the bottom:dunno:.

current home made salad bowl results

Driving it around so far theres no noticable difference. It sounds better under the hood. There may be a little difference for the worse right around the shift point. When I get in it at an aggresive yet smooth pace it sort of has a dead space where its making noise but no longer pulling. When I revamp it after the TBI spacer it will be better. Another round of parts will be ordered today.

the tbi setup is meant to have cold air feed to it thats the reason behind the make shift cold air tube from the factory. running it like you are now is feeding hot under hood air into the intake charge. they run better with a outside of the engine compartment air source. back to the cold air make denser air fuel charge and more power. you can read more about it on cfm tech or 3rd gen site.

i dont have any other option for now cause my truck hasnt had any of the original setup since i got it. i have future plans for some thing different but itll be awhile before i can come up with it.

Shady, did you order the TBI goodies from CFM tech? Your exhaust sounds nice too. When you eliminated the cat do you get a check engine light and do you have to do anything to the computer?

No they have em all at summit, exept the injectors. I want them too. I'm getting the spacer as the dual hole version and opening the center myself similar to the CFM one. and I'm getting that 1/4" spacer for the injector head. They are half the price at summit than from CFM:dunno: I'll get the TBI rebuild kit at Orilleys. I spent $250 there yesterday just for my fluids and filters:doah: I only have a $500 buget and its half gone so I'm not sure what else I can do. I have to do the pitman ends and tierod ends too so I have to cut costs where I can.

it hasnt since I did it. I havent had a problem yet, no codes, truck runs awesome with deffinate noticeable gains.

Good to know, I plan on doing exhaust next. I ordered a bunch of stuff from CFM on Wednesday, payed $40 for 2 day shipping, hoping to get it all by Friday to work on it this weekend and it never showed up :dunno:. Not bashing them but they don't answer the phone or respond to emails. I don't know maybe there closed this week I just hope I don't have to pay for 2 day shipping now.

I order from large know buisinesses only usually. I miss out on some things, but I've been torn off online a few times too many. I never have to pay for 2 day shipping with summit cause its usually here in 2-3 days anyway.

The only thing left on my exhaust is an 18" glass pack and I have know issues. 88' blazer w/350 tbi.

I made another order today. Got a bunch of things coming from summit. Tommorow I make a $1300 order for my kids truck:doah: I still havent gotten the tierods and such for mine:confused: Got the tbi stuff and a new air cleaner coming though.

I dint get shat done today:doah:. I wanted to finish the fluids but it rained all day. I did get my goodys though:D. I redid my air cleaner and the new setup does show improvement when driving. I kind of think it would be better if I cut the bottom out of my air pan but I have to sell this one sometime. I found what I was looking for after I had it ordered and dont feel like spending more right now.
