buying a 60 tommorow, and a 14ff LOOK

Thanks man. I frequent the 1 ton club occasionally.But this time its here to stay.:grin: This way, ill just leave the gears alone, add gear oil, and go for now. Not to mention all the other stuff ill need,, like springs, etc.No pics for now, but its all there.Just some axles. BTW it was 1300, delivered to my door. Not the best deal in the world, but, hey,,its a step further than i was before. Ive seen them sell here for 1350.00 Later, Jacob:)
 
Wow, I get on this morning only to find a big mess of attacks and basically garbage. Tonight we are all getting along like civilized adults and can agree on disagreeing. :woot:

Congrats dude on the 60. I'm glad you got what you wanted because that is most important. :) It looks like we have some wrenching to do......better get the brewskis out. :D

I do what I can...I climb some ditches, play in w/e mud is around, take on some hills.... nothing serious but I would still consider it wheelin cause you're out there having fun in your 4x4.

I have been lurking ck5 for a long time. I read posts by you two all the time and sometimes I agree, sometimes I don't. It is funny how many people see things differently. Maybe if we did know each other we could agree to disagree and go wheel together. I appologize for any comments I made that attacked your characters here or in the past.

I think that Bobby and I actually get along aright, we've gotten away from the personal attack issues.

Tim and I have definantly come to a "agree to disagree" method. But that has only come from threads and threads of arguing to stupid reasons.

Hey I agree with both of you on that too. To keep it somewhat on topic... I wish they still used 60's in them. J/K I'm glad they are trying to fix the ball joint issues they had with the 60's by going with the AAM's. I just wish my truck wasn't a first year guinea pig

I haven't had problems with the ball joints in my 60 yet but I do fear it, especially with the weight of the ISB. I am curious if the AAM axle holds it up better.
hmmmm, is it a coincidence that the ones rallying against the D60 all run 10 bolts or D44s? perhaps a little jealousy? or not wanting to lose one of their own to the 1 ton club?

No jealousy at all here. I honestly don't think I need a 60, but well see when I do some serious wheeling behind Burt4x4 at blazer fest this summer....I may be on the hunt myself if my front 10 comes home in pieces. If there is anything I'm jealous of it's that monster injected 454 that I got to see fire up for the first time on Sat. night! (kutos Burt!) That thing is going to rock!

I think you are noticing that because for the first time since you've been here we are actually getting along. And maybe even relizing neither one of us are bad guys since we aren't arguing about everything.

So are you going to need my help? :) Are a 6" lift still in the works? A pair of custom shafts, the lift, wheels and tires, and you should be ready for a way cool swap. :D
 
For 20 bucks? :grin: Yeah, ive decided to buy my stuff used though, used tires, used springs, used everything. USED USED USED. :grin: I dont want to talk about parts, otherwise my blood will boil, and huge veins will pop out of forehead. We dont need that.

I seriously doubt it. But if you can you should start selling them. Redding junkyards have a terrible mark-up. Redding is my hometown, still got lots of family up there. How long have you been in Redding?
 
10 years.... Most of the junkyards are a bunch of crooks but pick and pull has some cheap crap if you know when to look for it.
 
parts...I am scared of the word. especially when used in conjunction with "D60." my $150 Dodge D60 is cool but...it needs: shafts, u joints, bearings, seals, gears, carrier, diff cover, tie rod, king pins, brakes, yoke, and paint. I am frightenened to even think about how much thats gonna run me. To save a few bucks I am gonna stick with the stock drive flanges, hope it doesnt tear up my 205 at highway speeds. Also looking into building a powr-lock for it instead of a locker to save a few bux (stock carrier is crap, plus its 4.10). I sure wish the diff in this would have been full of gear oil instead of water when I got it, but I guess beggars cant be choosers.:D
