Calling all fatboys with tall trucks?!?!?!

What do you stand on to reach the entire engine bay of your lifted trucks?!?!?!

Well, I'm not fat, but I usually stand on the tire or sit inside the engine compartment cause it's so damn big! I want to find the maker of the stands that sit on the tire and are held in place by straps. Any clues?

I mostly use one of these:

Werner 2' step ladder

I've got a cooler that is the right height to stand on. I've seen a step that sits over the top of the tire. I don't think that one would fit over a wide tire though.

either stand on a 6 foot step ladder or let the air out of the tires and use a short stool.

I used to use a 5 gallon bucket but that slipped out from under me and I landed on the hood latch. So I don't do that any more.

Usually when I am on the ladder I say who was the idiot that put this much lift and these tires on.

I have a large timber - like 12" square by about 3' long that I stand on -

I hear you 70jimmy about the 5 gallon bucket slipping/impaling on the hood latch - what the heck was GM thinking on those first gens - Man that hurt!

I was using a styrofoam block but after a few years the corners round off and the slip out to. But it is gone with the wind, and frankly I don't give a damn! lol

I got it thanks! Just for the record, I have resorted to stradling the engine. Unless its hot and then I find something else to tweak until its cool enough to sit on the engine again.

I also use a Werner 2' step ladder... handy thing to have one or two of around the house.

I've thought about building a wrap around deck or platform to pull my K5 in. I don't have a level shop floor yet so I'm trying to stay away from ladders.

I put my knee's on the core support, or my bumper gaurd thing line the one mindless has up there. ^^^
