Camping Trailer Build

Very slick setup. I like it. Nice touch with the welding helmet on the ride down. Made me laugh.

Unfortunately I have to work this afternoon so I had to stop early, but I managed to knock a few more things off the list. I got the inverter mounted and finished boxing in the electrical box (needs a door still). The inverter is for running the lift mechanism and so we can watch movies without needing a generator, I should be able to watch a couple movies at night along with running the rest of the electrical stuff on the trailer at night without killing the batteries (200 amp hour reserve total):

We also got the canopy mounted, it will cover the side that the kitchen is going to be on (opposite of where the tent will fold out), it's 6'x8' and is super easy to set up if we need it:

Then we made some mounts for the taillights and license plate:

We finished up the day by moving the spare tire mount over a bit to make room for the propane tank, mounted the propane tank and made an extension for the trailer jack so it extended above the tire:

We're running out of time quickly, we're planning on leaving on the 26th, but that's likely to get pushed back to the 27th or 29th so we can finish things up. We'll see how the next week and a half goes. I need to start smoking meth so I don't have to sleep... :smokin2:

great job man!
sooooo, is a shower/toilet in the works anywhere?

We carry a pump toilet, I'll make a mount for it on top of the spare. For a shower I modified a pump up bug sprayer with a showerhead and bigger tubing. Put warm water in it, pump it up and you've got a shower.

I've used a 5gal bag shower before, they work pretty well.
I've also used a 5 gal bucket toilet, its luxury compared to leaning up against a tree!

This is kinda what I built, but I just used a plastic tank that you pre-heat the water in prior to pouring it in. I also put a better shower head on it, it works much better than a bag shower for sure.

Then for a toilet we have one of these:

This trailer is build is amazing! :saweet: Great job Sir! It's crazy to me all the fabrication you have done in such a short amount of time.

Thanks! I wish I had more time so I wasn't rushing through everything, but between work and the S-10 I just ran out of time. less than 2 weeks left to get it "finished".

We're in panic mode now, parts of the build just aren't going to get done before we leave. I did figure out that I can fit 4 NATO cans where the fuel cell will be, so that's probably what I'll do for now and build the fuel cell later. 10 days until we were planning on leaving, 12 days until my "overland" run starts up on the North Rim...

Tonight we tore the whole trailer apart, we finished welding the axle and underside of the frame. The axle got some spray paint and the bottom of the trailer got a couple coats of POR15. I also fabbed up a mount for the water pump and finished welding a few other parts:

Tomorrow after work hopefully we can paint some more parts so we can flip trailer back over and start putting it back together again (for good now).

Costco shopper.....ion job rocker boombox and a snap on 2000 lumen light.... currently both in my garage...

LOL, there's also a Homak toolbox from Costco out of frame, along with a ton of storage boxes from Costco, blue paper towels from costco etc.

Amber told me to mention that all the lighting in the garage now is also LED shop lights from Costco. But you can't really tell that from the pictures...
We didn't get a ton of work done tonight, but the trailer is flipped back over with an axle under it. We finished welding a few things, then we fabbed up a panel for all the electrical controls:

I'm "working" from home on Friday so that should give me some extra time in the garage to finish up a few things. Hopefully by Monday we're just putting everything together and doing a few minor jobs on the truck.

This build is amazing, like others I've always wanted to do this! Maybe sometime I could come check it out in person, since I see you live in Chandler and I'm just in Tempe.
