Can anyone prove GM used ATF in an NP205?

Here you go, straight out of a '91 factory service manual -

It's pretty funny. He just keeps deleting everything I say. Here is the page if you're bored.

It just annoys me when people who genuinely want good information, and people give bad information as fact.

I guess it's a good thing looked in this thread.
So when I put my doubler together using a 203/syncro 205 I need to run 80-90w in the 203 range box and ATF in the 205?
Gear oil was in the 205 when I tore it down. Not saying that is what's supposed to be in it, just making sure I put the right fluid in.

No, just run the same lube in both if them. There is nothing wrong with running ATF in an NP205, but you can run gear lube. That is what GM originally ran in them.

any advantage in running tranny fluid in the np205 behnd a auto, say the seal gives it would be bad to get gear oil in tcase

But what is the better choice, ATF or gear lube? It's been so long but I think I filled up the 203 and 205 in my doubler both with ATF. Again, that was so long ago I'm not 100% sure what I used lol

Just think about every truck with an ATF filled 205 because of a worn rear seal on the tranny. No harm to the 205.
