I'm sure many of you have already made the upgrade and I am asking for help. I already have a ff 14bolt for the rear after being convinced that rebuilding 1/2 ton gear again would be ludicrous. I've had the truck since `89 and this rebuild has been in the works since my daughter was born 6 yrs ago. A new 6" ORD kit was installed 2 yrs ago and I've been working on a 3 stick doubler with Monsters transmission upgradeso as well. My problem is finding a Chevy Dana 60 front to bolt in that I can build the way I want to on a limited budget. Been looking for well over months and it's always sold in pairs or partially built wrong or stupidly overpriced. If I could get my rear for $200 what's a reasonable price for the beast I want. It just needs to be complete and I'll rebuild it myself. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm somewhat local to you and I would expect to pay anywhere from $1100 to 1500 for a Chevy D60. If you're on FB join the crawler classified pages, took me a few months to find one too.

I'm fairly close. I paid $650 for a dually d60. You have to watch cl like a hawk. I've found one before for 600 bucks and it was sold in 10 minutes.

I'm real close to you and Chevy SRW D60's are going somewhere between $1500-$1800 now. A friend of mine just bought a complete truck that had a D60 swapped into it just so he could swap it into his blazer and then resell the truck. That might be your best option to get a good deal as long as you have the capitol to make a truck purchase and the time to make the swap. My buddy got lucky that the truck he bought also had crossover steering in it already also.

Ugh, good grief. Thanks though

D60's seem to be drying up in the west. Had to get mine shipped from elsewhere.

Very true. I was lucky to find one that didnt need a $1000 in work to make usable. Half the ones i see now are in awful condition for $1500.

If i had to do it over again id source a k30, steal axles, roll 10 bolts under and send it to pick n pull, provided it ran for a $1000.

yeah, most of the ones I see pop up anymore are in the northeast, and they're WAAAY cheaper then here.
