If yall don't mind me asking, what's a round about price to build a 28x36x14 shop? I guess just in materials, I plan to do all/most of the work myself, atleast everything but concrete. I'd like to do one up like my house, framed up with vinyl siding, insulated, plummed for a sink and toilet, etc.
I'm tired of working in a gravel driveway...

The shop I use is 32x52 main structure and it was built 2 years ago, cost $55k. Concrete, framing, plumbing, insulation, 2 post lift, and 16ft lean-to on the side with concrete pad. Brick exterior 4 ft up and concrete board the rest of the way. Probably cost 5k in beer we had to give out to lure the friends over to help. Ill get you a pic if I can find one.

My parents show was where I restored my blazer. Don't have any pictures of the shop, but its a 30x40x12ft, with a 17ft ridge. It also has a 22x40 awning off the front. There are 2 12x9 (12ft, I think) doors in the sidewalls, and a 12x10ft door in the back side wall. The tall ceiling makes the building feel humongous compared to low ceilings.

If and when I get to build mine, I'll go somewhere around 30x60 with the same size awning off the front and the same layout. I like having the doors in the side walls and 2 (or in my case 3) bays. With 20ft bays, you have plenty of room to work around vehicles, store tools, etc. When I had my blazer completely torn apart, I could still work on another vehicle in the other bay.

I agree I just built, (still not finished the inside), a 28'x40' 10.5' ceiling 2 floor with a 10'x40' lean too, and if I ever built another it would be at least 40' x 60' on the main structure. I started off with a 16' x 32' and decided to go up to the 28' x40' which seemed huge till I started putting all my bs in it.

Ok, although it isn't as pretty as some of yours, and definitely isn't as big, but I spent all last weekend finally getting the last of it cleaned and organized, so I need to show off:

Yes it took some time, I just did a little each month when my city would have a bulk trash pickup. Right now I feel it was totally worth it, just being able to get around my Camaro to work on it, and being able to reach my parts washer and workbench is such a huge plus. Now if only I had the money to get everything done.

Here is what I have now. 3 car under the master bed and bath. It's full with my 80 Malibu, 75 Vette and Harley. I have a MaxJax lift in the single bay.
The overhead photo is out lot = 5 acres. Later next summer I plan to start a 40x60 so I can move the project out of the house and reserve that for the daily drivers. I'll probably put the shop near the top lest of the photo so I can see it out of my bedroom window..where the sniper rifle is

Still under construction, but usable. Started out as a shade for welding. Concete floor 18 X 21 feet, 8 foot legs on a metal carport. I have closed in the back, incorporating a small building that has my tools, air compressor and welding machine The door of the small building is even with the back wall. Closed in the sides and am trying to decide how big of door to put in front end. Concrete and steel totals about $2400.

they call it a 2 car garage but i'm calling bull**** on that one. my garage is 19X19' with a 8'4" ceiling, 7'2" with the door open, which means nothing because the door opening is only 6'10". if i were to remove the fridge, shelved and everything in the middle of the garage, then lower my suburban about 6", it'd just barely fit, there would be no walking/working around it, but it'd fit.

Half of a 40x60 I lease, steel construction, fully insulated, heated. Three phase power from three phase converters I built. It's in a business park that a friend owns, he operates a cabinet business there (80x100). A one acre + lot outside my door for storage, sandblasting etc. No exterior pics right now.
