Sold Cleaning time. (Axle parts & etc.)

Is this sarcasm? Or are you getting crazier than I realized?
OH no sir. No sarcasm. I really do want one. It would never tow. It would only be used for on road driving.

I originally wanted just a clean, gasser K5. But the more I thought about it, I want a 6.2 for the fuel mileage. It would replace my Cherokee.

Ok. Keep an eye on the gearing if you want mileage. The really efficient 6.2 trucks are also the ones that are gutless in top gear.

Yep, I am even prepared to change gearing to help the MPG's.
Hey, man. Toss me enough dollars and you can have my K5. It even has O/D now!
Don't even tempt me.

Awesome. You are the easiest person to get ahold of, shipping-wise. You can either come get it or wait until the next family gathering takes us to Newton. Is there anything else on the list that interests you? I have a pile of cheap tires & rims in both GM and Ford patterns.

How long until you're in the area again? I've gotta get the truck running then a little test and tune time, depending on how long it takes me to get it running I may either wait or run up there after it no hurry other than snow/ice for me.

I'll be in IA for Thanksgiving and probably Christmas. Not sure yet if we're heading to Newton. You can go pick it up whenever you want. It's west of CR a few miles, should take you ~1.5 hrs each way.

And take some wheels! :haha:

I have need for the wheels but I sure can take a few I suppose. we've only got like 10 chevy trucks floating around lol

I'm not pushing them, I just have a bunch lying around with no future plans. They'll pop up onto CL if nobody here wants them. I just haven't been down there to photograph them recently.

Stock steel 8-lug 16" GMT400 rims. I think I have 12 of them, with and without tires. Not worth shipping, but I'm including them just in case someone close is interested. James, I have a few Ford rims as well.

Why not put 4 of them on big blue and 4 on the sub?

Big Blue runs 6-lug, and I already have a set on the Sub. These are extra sets.

I guess I don't have a picture with the hub caps, but this is what I'm running now. For the whopping zero miles that it got this year.

One of my ulterior motives here is that as I clear out the extra tire pile I'll have reason to paint up the CUCV rims and finally have CK5-approved wheels on Big Blue. And have a simpler life as the amount of iron baggage drops down to stuff that I actually have a chance of wanting someday. Which reminds me that I need to write up some CL ads to get these lower-dollar heavy items turned into money.

So if you want to contribute to the "Get good wheels on Campy's truck" fund, buy my leftover 1/2-ton and 3/4-ton rims. :pimp: :haha:

I probably have some 6 lug stuff leftover from days gone by.

I have no need for it as I live more of an 8 lug life these days.

Ill take a look.

@78K30, did you decide how you want the axle to arrive in your area?

And one other thing I was thinking about today...I have 3 8-lug dog-dish rims on my trailer. If I could find a couple more I'd be able to run this look. Do you or anyone down there have some of these lying around? I know they're common, but local CL has not had any hits for quite a while.

If not, I can keep running the boring GMT400 rims, there's no crime in that.

@campfire I've been meaning to message you about that. I can always come retrieve it to save you the hassle, I'm actually just getting inside from putting the "new" drivetrain in the '78 so I'll hopefully have a need for that axle relatively soon. You said you'll be around thanksgiving weekend correct? If so I can go ahead and mail you a check or cash now then meet you up there on your way down here.

And I'm pretty sure @78SWB has mentioned that the GM caps fit ford rims. I have a set of ford rims I can check the caps on to verify. since you've mentioned that you've got some ford rims it may save you buying another set. I've got some ferd ones you can have if you need a complete set.

Yeah, thanksgiving will be a fine time to meet up. I have thought about old ford rims but don't have any of those, either. I have some 5-lug rims, some 6-lug rims, and some GMT400 8-lug rims (as far as extras go).

Would you have interest in swapping this sort of rim for the dog-dish 8-lug Ford rims? That sort of swap might help both of us out.

Sure that'd be fine by me! I don't need them at all, I'll check cap fitment today if I remember to

Awesome. The tires pictured are up in WI, the matching IA rims are bare and rusty. If you don't have a particular need you can pick through the wheel pile and see what looks interesting.

Is there anything from the WI list that you'd like me to bring down?

@GWeakland620, I'm planning to move the TH400 down there as well. Are you interested in the radiator or any of the TH400 accessories? I have the adapter, cooler lines, cooler, vacuum line, diesel vacuum regulator, etc. The P.O. claimed the regulator is adjustable, but I never even looked at it.
