Considering a Suburban Tow Rig

I wouldn't rule one out for the right price. It would be a slick setup if the body came off relatively real quick, and I had a flatbed to swap out with. I could just throw the ambulance box on in the summer. I wonder if they ever come up with extended or crew cabs?

Might as well keep the string of surplus vehicles going....
I mean Army M1009, Firetruck, now possibly a Wambulance camper/tow pig.

Why not a real tow truck,a flatbed beaver tail or roll back ramp truck..then you could haul a vehicle and tow one too,or put a slide in camper or trailer on the bed if you want to camp..they have crew cab ramp trucks too..or you could cut down an old school bus and put a roll back ramp or flatbed on it...yeah,gas mileage may not be stellar, but no tow vehicle will be getting much over 10 mpg anyway loaded..

Ya that's because they didn't bail out VW :surepal:

I agree though, stupid arbitrary emissions regulations have stifled diesels. It's a miracle that we even have any.

stupid arbitrary emissions regulations have stifled America....

I have no idea what you two are trying to spell.

I think @blazinzuk is parting out exactly that with a 6.5TD 4x4 drive train. But he says he can't get a functional title for it, so it probably wouldn't do you any good. But you know where to find a body if you want to build one. :dunno:

If I built one, it'd have a cummins.

You people, always putting expensive thoughts in my brain.

I hate acronyms. They regularly make my job incomprehensible.

Maybe I should just build a burb...

If I could find a super clean 3/4 6.2 burb that drove and then saved parts for the cummins swap...

I bet I could do it for 10k.

Probably, if you did the work yourself.

But I thought you were wanting to buy something that's ready to go... :dunno:

Yea, I guess my thought in the last post was that it'd be a running driving truck, and then I'd make it into a tow rig.
