A good day to work on some bumpers

So got a little more done on my bumper today. Good opportunity to test the replacement camera.

diggin that Kert, going with a winch mount or not?
liking the frame rail work too....how many holes left to do in that one rail?

I decided against a winch mount for the crew cab. I tried to think of the last time I had thought, "Damn, if I had a winch..." Couldn't remember one single time. Most of the time around the shop, or what have you will use a strap or nudge one of the junkers out of the way. Winch is just too slow.

The shiny rail is pretty much done. Needs a few welds buffed out yet on the outside and some back fill on the inside. Each rail has 117 holes that will be filled.

I didn't think you did any serious off roading to need one, just curious.

Tow straps are quick and easy too!

Camera takes nice pics....I need to get one, what is the one you got?

great idea...did you decide what your running for the trans pump then...a 12v pump?

Clutch line replaced and I now have the best feeling clutch I have ever had in this truck. Found a leak, tried to tighten and snapped the fitting. Swapped it all out to straight up inverted flare brake line.

Much better! It's driveable again.

Victory!
I'll bet that feels great.

ps... I still got 4 divots in my drive from your "problematic" clutch...:haha:

So after commuting a couple days with a good clutch line making sure its all good. It was time to make a decision.

I hired my uncle to do some work for me on the Crew cab and the blazer. I just can't find the time but it still has to get done.

Currently he's regearing the 14BFF, pulling the bias ply 36's off and getting the rims sandblasted and ready for powder coating. Then finally the 37" radials can be put on.

I'm really looking forward to this parts completion. I can't tell you how bad the 36's have gotten.

Once the 37's are on and a done deal, i'll start getting the HP60 ready to go in. Then maybe I can finally have a 4wd again. It's all coming together.

Glad to hear it kert!! ps I sent you 20 bones via paypal for the shipping mix up a while back and it got returned to me. What gives?

i think you will love the radials 37" better.

i bolted 4 on my rig year or 2 ago. no balence at all. 70mph 1 finger on the steering. and that was push/pull steering also.

Mikeydo5 has them on his rig and same deal. Nice smooth running tire. I'm looking forward too it. I've been riding on these bouncy, cupped 36's for far too long. Looking forward to the deeper gears as well.

Can't hardly use the NV4500 overdrive with the current gears. 80-85 is where she'd wanna run in the overdrive currently. With those bias plys it wasn't ever gona happen.

Now it should be pullin peak at 75 in overdrive with the 37's.

just grab a few for spares if the deal is cheep.

2 years or so ago when i got mine for 50 each with 80-up% tread i only got 4 me and 4 for buddy. now he poped 1 and guy dont have anymore. :doah:

As busy as you are Kert, I can see why you need to get some help. Nothing wrong with that.
I think the radials will be much better also, hard to beat em on road.

You'll be glad you got the radials on. The rig is getting better all the time.

The only problem is you are going to have to change the big giant sticker to (MUDI4X, My Uncle Does It 4x). :thumb: Just busting your chops, I know you guys did a lot of work on that thing, and sometimes when you get to the point where some things aren't worth your time to do, I think that could be a good sign. You're doing good Kert. I would do the same if I were you. And you kept it in the family anyway, almost doesn't count as having it done.
