Re: \"death wobble\"
m j,
In all fairness to these guys, 10 bolts and 44s can death wobble. I say this because I have experienced death wobble on a 10 bolt, and two dana 60s, so I know EXACTLY what it feels like. When I first bought my K5, I was driving it down the road about 25 or so and boom, death wobble. The fix, two upper balljoints and a steering stabilizer (IIRC the stabilizer alone fixed it, but I knew it was just masking the problem so I also found the balljoints needed replaced to and did so). Now, I have since bought two different one tons (obviously with 60s) and both had death wobble when I bought them. The fix on both was kingpin bushings and springs. I really dont see what the difference is between loose balljoints on a 10 bolt and worn kingpin bushings and springs on a 60. The both allow the knuckle to move in a manner that make drastics changes in camber and caster.
