Worth the money? Do they live up to the hype?

Been kicking around the idea of linking the rear on my rig. But since it already has leaf springs back there, why not see if it's worth just replacing them.
Up to this point I've been using stock height 1/2 ton springs with a few of the leafs removed. The problem is, they don't last to long....a year or so before they start to de-arch.
The back end of the rig is very light.....No bed, a tool box and two propane tanks. So I do run into some wheel hop nothing to bad, but something I would like to get rid of.

If not Deavers, any other springs out there I should look at?

I'd go Alcan any day of the week over Deaver...

Care to elaborate on why? Not trying to a smart ass or anything, just trying to see what's out there and if it's worth for me to go this route.

I've heard some stories of really bad customer service on Deavers part... sound like a bunch of a$$hats to me...

I know Shawn had deavers on the back of his 07. That truck rode really nice with them and everyone knows Shawn beat the piss out of them!!

I have no personal experience with the customer service side of things though...

They make good springs.. But ORD is already here designing springs built by alcan specifically for our rigs...

I like mine and I don't even have my good shocks up front yet. It rides good offroad at the moment, I know when I get my good shocks on it will be way better... But with just ok shocks paired with the alcan/ORD springs up front, my rig rides like a caddy on the road... WAY better than it did stock. Which is saying something about lift springs.

Plus I don't see deaver on ck5 giving any of us help on things. ORD is a great company and will give you all the info you need, and walk you through any questions and concerns you may have.

That's good to hear, I've been dealing with them for quite awhile now, doubler, shackle flip, triple stick, steering braces, etc. Always help me out..... No matter how stupid the question I asked.

Seems to be the general consensus

Im kinda tossing the deaver idea around also, ORD/Alcan wants to charge almost 100$ to ship to ca, thats almost 800 for just front springs..

Deavers are 750 and they have many years of experience with k5s race and trail. I can post the pictures they sent to me regarding the moving of the shackle.

Here is what they recommend. Scott has been really good about answering my questions.

ORD's springs are $630 plus shipping. Last I knew anyways... Unless you are bundling bushings and shackles in with your price.

They're more now I think 680 was the last price I was quoted, no problem my main thing is I'm in socal... Corona is 2 hours would you pay shipping if a custom shop was that close to you?

no definitely not. I must have missed that part.

Sorry I failed to mention that. National is near me to anyone have experience with them. They are more expensive though.

Price on our springs varies depending on weight and length, but our springs that bolt in the stock location for straight axle Chevy front springs are still usually $630/pair. They are fairly heavy and shipping them isn't super cheap, $100 isn't uncommon.

That's one of the things that hurt....I'm on the east coast. What's the weight per spring, just wondering if their UPS groundable?

I saw you have front spring listed in your catalog. Why not list rear too?
How much info are you going to need from me before you can recommend a non stock spring pack?

I know it would be a lot simpler just to call ( And I will be doing that too ) But I figured I put it up here to help others.

My springs to the middle of Michigan were $126 shipping. Didn't think that was so bad, they heavy.
