Deaver Springs

So what is the prep? Replace bushings and teflon pads? Re-arch?

Yes typically it's 100$ per pack I think to redo them. 400 basically per truck.

Why are they wearing out so fast? That don't sound right. I've had my rancho lift springs 15 years and have only replaced my bushings on them. They haven't sagged or needed anything else. Maybe with the extra length over stock it's a issue. I wouldn't want to have to pull them that often. Does help he lives right by the factory though. No shipping costs.

I think it's all about how far and how often you are flexing them. Running high speed in a soft spring is like accelerated life compared to crawling around on lift kit springs.

Is that guy on pirate? I feel like I've talked with him on there.

Yea he's called white truck, deavers are a lot of thin leaves but if you seen how hard he drives it you wouldn't wonder at all why they wear out. He's got bypasses on every corner and 13 inches up front and I think 16-18 in the rear, 300hp and a heavy foot so.. It's kinda like a race truck almost.. Think wade but a teenager...

Here's the latest.. I have no idea besides he said factory rivets failed on hangar..

On the subject of moving the fush mount and trimming the body mount, i have a set of 53 inch alcans that go on exactly that way. I bought them from the classifieds years ago for my 83, they were brand new. They are 7 inch lift springs, with the 3 inch body lift the truck is pretty tall. Sorry the pics arent too good, it has settled out real nice. I have now 39-18.50 boggers that clear really nice, thats with cutout fender flares tho. The shackle is a 6.5, the fush is a diy4x and the frame has been plated where the new mount is, poly bushings were used also.

This looks like he hit something real hard on the driver side, the shackle bottomed out on the frame and the spring had no where to go but get bent up. Looks like there's no bumpstops either (minus the factory one which is useless on a lifted truck)

That's what I was thinking as well muddermilitia. Looks like he beats the hell outa his truck then. If I had a trail rig only I'd probably do the same. But mine has to Get to And from where I go. That's some real damage there. I'm guessing he had to Replace that spring. Lol
